  1. Anyone else getting the Sims Connected wheel of doom today?
  2. Anyone else experiencing issues with Teams Assignments this morning? Either blank paging or erroring?
  3. An update has been posted by ESS regards the SIMS issue **Update** A fix has been implemented. All affected users will also need to make sure they clear the cache from their internet browsers in order for registers to load. In Chrome: - On your computer, open Chrome. - At the top right, click More and then Delete browsing data. - Choose a time range, like Last hour or All time. - Select the types of information you want to remove. - Click Delete data. If you delete cookies while signed in to Chrome, Chrome refreshes the Google cookies that keep you signed in. This happens so that Chrome can continue to work as you expect. To delete Google cookies, sign out of Chrome first. In Edge: To clear the cache on Microsoft Edge, click the three dots in the top-right corner, go to Settings > Privacy, search, and services, select "Choose what to clear" under "Clear browsing data," and then check the box for "Cached images and files," select "All time" for the time range, and click "Clear now". Should you still experience issues after clearing the cache, please let us know.
  4. I love how we have to ask for details of the workaround on a thread on a 3rd party site, rather than... the details just being added to our tickets or posted on the website with a service outage notice...
  5. Yeah. its all users for us, but i feel better knowing its not just me and they are doing something about it

  7. Same, no idea of any work around And have the priority 1 ticket that just said it was fixed at 8.30 this morning I'm just so tired....
  8. I see the fix for Next Gen registers hasn;'t fixed it and its down again! I keep getting told its got an uptime of 99.93% I'm sure it has when you're including weekends, holidays and midnight, but what's is its uptime between 8-5 during term time. because i can guarantee its not that!
  9. Anyone else finding assignments in Teams are not available/erroring this morning?
  10. Our head is tired of the excuses and outages We moved to hosted as we were sold on the reliability and uptimes over buying a new server But its just become unreasonable and unsustainable, to the point even our SIMS manager was asking "we should look at iSams or similar" Staff are frustrated, IT staff are getting the brunt of the anger and I just have no idea what to say to calm it at this point, because honestly, i don't disagree It feels like they hoped everyone would use Next Gen, and have woefully under-set the services for connected VM's every day,
  11. Given how woeful SIMS Connected has been recently, this is something I would be interested in, if only as an lever to get out of contracts early After the last 2 days, even are SIMS manager is saying "lets look at iSams"
  12. Tangentially linked to SIMS in that we need to run payment files from SIMS/PASSFinance We are looking to move away from PTX as our tool for processing Direct Debits and BACS payment runs What systems do you use that have high security/tracking etc but also won't send our finance team insane trying to learn a new system?
  13. Does anyone know of a suplier for (or have any spare) remote controls for the Genee GtouchSlim FHD (also any parts, including an IR receiver?)
  14. We have a number of brand new Windows Surface 7 devices with the intel ax201 Wifi cards Regularly (like within minutes of logging in) the wifi connection goes from connected, secured to connected. no internet connection changing the icon from the wifi one to the globe with a cross The device still had an IP address, can see the connection Bnt won't connect to the internet We've updated the drivers, we've turned the settings to only use lower bands, to only use 802.11G, to turn off MIMO etc all as mentioned in other threads Still having the same issues The surface 6's with the Marvell wifi cards, solid as a rock. no issues

  19. has anyone else had issues with Firefly Learning Platform going down on them ("Service not available" message) in the last 2 days? We've had no prior issues, but with Corona Planning, it being THIS unreliable when it was our primary route of lesson delivery is concerning
  20. oh, thanks! very useful, I'll follow up the idea of a separate Staff Firefly UDFWe actually moved FROM intouch after the 3 different ISP's kept blocking Intouch messages (yahoo, AOL and BTinternet) as spam and kept rejecting and Intouch messages from their servers!
  21. We have an issue where we use Schoolcomms as our parent communication tool, we really like it but are having issues with staff who are also parentsSchoolcomms only takes the MAIN email address from SIMS and uses that email for sending out stuff.Which for most people is fineBut staff who are also parents have had to separate out their email and roles in SIMS to be able to have their staff and parent logins as set by Firefly (Staff- Primary and Parent email- Main)Which means anything sent to "staff" (who is also a parent) via schoolcomms sends to their personal email address, even if its a "staff" message (which could lead to a major Data protection issue here potentially)We can't be the only school using Schoolcomms and Firefly together, so how do you make it work?
  22. Anyone have any advice on how to set up a BYOD (transparent) proxy exception on Smoothwall so that our students can access FrogLearn via ipads? Currently we use a pac file to force the exception onto school held devices (non-transparent proxy), but sixth formers with BYOD ipads get stuck, because theres no Proxy exception or ability to add it to ios without a pac
