Octavo Partnership is a mutual trading company joint owned by Croydon Council, Croydon Head Teachers Association (CHTA) and staff. It was established in April 2015 as a one-stop shop for education support services in Croydon and beyond and incorporates 8 core services plus additional brokered services.
About the role
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior ICT Consultant to join our Information Systems team. The team provides comprehensive ICT support packages, projects and installations to schools, covering all aspects of ICT for teaching & learning and school administration. This opportunity will involve maintaining good customer relations and developing our service delivery as well as providing an ongoing, day-to-day high quality ICT service to all our clients.
The successful candidate will supervise a group of technicians who provides on-site ICT services to schools and provide support to assist in the resolution of more complex incidents.
Sound experience in all of the following technologies is required: Windows server 2008R2/2012R2, Windows 7/8.1 Professional, Apple IOS, Mobile Device Management, DHCP, DNS, GPO/GPP, VLANs, managed print solutions, VPN, and LGfL provided services as well as experience of Hyper-V, AD, Powershell, deployment technologies like MDT and WDS, IP subnets, software deployment. The successful candidate is expected to take day-to-day ownership of the delivery of ICT services to designated schools and work closely with Information Systems Manager to continuously improve our serviced delivery.
Responsibilities:
Manage ICT projects, installations, and upgrades both onsite and remotely
Provide support and assistance to our technician’s to resolve persistent and complex ICT issues.
Provide consultancy, training and support to schools in the use of ICT to ensure effective use and improve efficiency.
Liaise with school business managers, head teachers, teachers and administrative staff to raise awareness and further develop the use of ICT and to improve our service delivery.
Ensure regular tasks are documented and completed in accordance with the procedures established by the ICT Manager.
Ensure KPI’s as set out in our SLA’s are met.
Person specification:
Experience of a large variety of ICT technologies
The ability to work independently using your own initiative
Experience of troubleshooting and resolve complex ICT issues
Be able to manage the delivery of projects, server and client device installations.
Be able to maintain a high degree of customer service for all support queries.
Be able to lead and supervise staff.
Have an understanding of the ITIL framework and PRINCE2.
Experience of SQL database management and upgrades.
Equally as important as relevant experience, is the ability to stay self-motivated, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and to be able to relate to school staff/pupils, other clients and colleagues and have an understanding of delivering high quality services within agreed service levels.
