We were having the same problem with old documents but here is what we implemented. Purchase KBPublisher - Knowledge base software which isnt that expensive at all for what it can do. Buy something similar to the Canon DR-2580C mass document scanners. Scan to PDF format and publish into the kbpublisher archive. We did purchase a few licenses of Acrobat Pro so that we can edit the pdf files but I do know there are opensource editors available. It all worked so well we have around 12 scanners located around the college used for document storage.

You can find the file on the novel website, filename is ZDM7SP1_IR3a_IMG_Resource.zip Type into google and it comes up with the download link. I had the same issue with the same cards and the above update fixed it.

Running a combination of novel 6.5, zenworks 7, GW 7, OES linux and windows. Switching more of our servers to run XEN and oes linux. I find the novel side of things very nice to work with and switching to the new zen suite 10 will be a godsend, NO MORE NOVEL CLIENT!
