Following the remodelling of IT support structure within the school and across the
Shropshire Gateway Educational Trust, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an
School ICT Technician based at Lacon Childe Secondary School in Cleobury
Mortimer, Shropshire
Lacon Childe has recently converted to an academy and is one of a number of
schools who are joining together to form The Shropshire Gateway Educational
Trust.
Although the job is based at Lacon Childe, with its core focus being support to the
large IT infrastructure within the school, the growth of the Shropshire Gateway
means that the post holder may play a role in providing support across the wider
organisation. This is an exciting and challenging time for all of the schools
involved and will provide the successful candidate with both personal and
professional development opportunities.
The successful candidate will work closely with an outsourced Network Manager
who will provide some technical support to the schools but also provide strategic
direction, professional support and project management.
The successful candidate will have vision and drive and be able to work effectively under pressure. You will take a daily lead on technical issues and provide support to staff within the schools. The school currently has an ICT apprentice to whom you would be expected to provide leadership and support.
The school users a range of ICT solutions including Cisco/HP networking, Citrix (Xenapp & Xendesktop), VMware, Microsoft Systems, Wireless networking and Apple Products. Experience in any of these areas would be an advantage.
