  1. I was pushed to go to 4.4.0.77 as a matter of urgency, although I still had a few older versions installed on some computers as the update function is pants. The uninstallers never work properly and the normal solution to upgrade fail. I find the notification of updates to be appauling. I'd get the update first, But i wouldnt be surprised if it was causing your issue. Apparently if your a school you get the 4.5.1.11
  2. We use Esafe with FG, might be worth getting them to check your system. I've had a lot of hit and miss issues with esafe from not running correctly to not working at all. Are you running the latest software. 4.4.0.77 or 4.5.1.11
  3. well that's clever, how do you do offline tests if its not on laptops. I think there will be some issues with H&S sending out staff with Computers and Monitors.
  4. Thanks Sam, after some research, we will have 4 classrooms of 10 computers with the lan installation as well as around 40 laptops with the offline installation. I can live with the upgrading on so many computers but how do you find out when updates are available or required? I'm just trying to work out the best solution for installation. If there are no notifications, I may consider just rolling everything out as the offline clickonce test player, so they get updates automatically and everyone follows the same userguide
  5. oooo well we are one step closer. After a lot of phone calls to pearson and testing and sharing logs. It seems we were missing vcredx86 2012 which they did say twice was not required. Now that is installed I aim to do some testing tomorrow but hit another odd issue. I installed both the lan and offline versions only a week ago. two laptops with offline, one clickonce and one msi for testing purposes. Yesterday the clickonce did an update. If I didn't run clickonce I'd of had no idea there was updated software. Downloaded the msi and as expected it was a new version. How do you go about keeping your testing software up to date while using msi to distribute? Am I better off taking the time to install the clickonce on the machines so at least it checks and updates?
  6. I have read a lot of this now, but don't see much mention in regards to the offline version (Test Player)... I have recently had to install both the lan and offline version. Both versions simple enough to install. We are having massive problems with the offline tests which pearson after 3-4 days admits there are other people having the same problem. Start an exam go from first question by clicking next. Screen then performs a loss of focus, you try the key sequence to unblock but discover you cant as there is an error message in the background stating an unrecoverable error and the only way to even restart the test is by clicking yes and wiping all the original data. Unable to get any further. For a system that's been around for over a year its a bit poor.
