Hi all, I seem to be having issues with deployment of windows 10 via Windows Deployment Services. Everything was working fine until about 3 weeks ago, all deployments would work fine, however since then whenever I try to deploy via PXE I get the error message: "Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause" etc. Status: 0xc0000001 I can see all of the listed boot images, and select them I just keep getting the error message. There have been no new updates on the server/network and I have rebooted the deployment service and the server itself several times. IP configuration is correct, I have tried making a new boot image, however I still get the same issue. I have had no success getting it working so far. Any ideas?

Wow that isn't bad at all! We are roughly 1-3 smashed screens per week, hence why we repair them in-house. On the griffin cases they tend to rip the rubber bits off, and it looks like the cases have been eaten haha. Would be nice to have an indestructible tablet!

Some good ideas guys, we are looking into those now. The only one which isnt suitable is the Dux cases, as that doesnt offer enough protection and give the students another thing to take off!

Hey! So the other day I heard that Griffin are stopping manufacture of their iPad 2 protective covers, which is a shame for us. So I was wondering if anyone new of any decent covers that are out there for sale. The griffin ones were not great, most of the cases were half eaten, screens broken behind the protective shell and although they were "tested to US Military standards" apparently the US military's standards are much lower that that of a SEN school. Just to confirm, yes iPad 2 from 2011, they are easy and cheap to repair. Many thanks!

Hello! I am wondering if anyone knows of any remote access software (like teamviewer etc.) that is free, or free for education? or am presuming no, but you don't loose anything by asking! I know we have remote desktop connection built into windows, but I need something that will not boot the other person off. Many thanks.

Hello, I am not sure if this is the right place for this but I am going for it here. I am trying to create a GPO that creates an icon of the desktop for the students which lets them open their H drive. The H drive for us is the users own personal space so ie: "\\serverd\studentarea$\jblogs" Of course I dont want everyone to connect to poor Joe Blog's own drive, as every student has their own, and I am not sure what to put down as the target path to only open their drive. Can anyone assist? Many thanks!

Hello, On a daily bases we have a range of hardware which is being booked out, however we do not yet have a proper system in place for doing so, nor a speedy way. All staff on site have badges with non-programmable RFID chips in them, which we use for access to 'non-critical areas'. This got me thinking about placing RFID tags/stickers onto equipment, first scanning the persons ID and then scanning the item (indication that person x has booked out item y). I could probably make a spreadsheet with the information on, wack it onto a static workstation and connect my RFID reader onto it and scan away, but I was wondering if there is ether: a) any freeware b) any cheap software that could make it look a bit nicer than a spreadsheet. Any ideas anyone?

The current situation at my school is that we have an outdated moodle server, which will fall over any day now, and we also have "RealSmart" which is basicly an overlay for google drive. We are trying to work out what steps to take, I personally would like to keep things in-house, however, we cannot spend the time to maintain and update the VLE constantly. Does anyone know of any companies that make a VLE tailored to the schools needs and who offers support for it? I have tried looking around, but this is something that is quite hard to look for, so I would be very grateful for any suggestions. Thank you.

I am just curious, as to how others use IT in schools. Currently the school I work at, all staff have vanilla laptops, which takes time to make images, move data, set up etc. and I was just wondering how other schools do this? Do you have networked laptops? Desktops in every classroom? Vanilla PC's/Laptops? or something else? I would personally like to move over to networked desktops, or at least networked laptops, but I have the feeling the staff here would be against it. We have had other network managers and SITS etc. come in and say that "the staff are pampered to" because they have their own laptops, printers in every office with no centralized printing.
