Hi all I have a two week cycle set up but Nova thinks that Mon:A3 and Mon:B5 are on the same day and therefore won't schedule lessons on these slots because of the one per day rule. I don't want to switch it off becasue of autoschedule but I know that it is making my life difficult. I've aattched an image to demonstrate. In this instance I can't drop the lesson En with CNH into the blank because it clashes with En with NSC, even though they are actually on different days. This is just one example but I'm sure there are lots of times autoschedule has worked around this problem. I am finding it really hard to schedule this timetable but I have a contact ration of 0.67 so it should be really easy!!!! What can I do? Have I set my cycle up wrong? Would it make a difference if the days were labelled as AMon:3 and BMon:5? If yes then how do I change that with some of my timetable built already? Please help? Dave

This happens to me a lot and I think it is due to using two monitors, although it also just happened on a single monitor when I had staff TTs open in separate windows and then changed to the band screen. The button appears and you click it and nothing happens!! However - persevere. Keep clicking the ok button (a lot) and it will eventually disappear. It seems it has a kind of spasm and instantaneously creates a lot of error messages overlaying each other. They disappear to reveal another and it looks like they are not going, but they are. All will be well...... now breathe! Dave

Thank you to all the replies. I previously had it as NCC however the classes weren't appearing in Cover Manager for the cover supervisor to arrange teachers to cover if the form tutor was off that day, so I put it into the TT. It may be that the cover supervisor was not doing it correctly and it is possible to see and cover NCCs. I think I'll either explore moving it back to an NCC or follow Panosthegreat and simply add on the allocation to the max load. Dave

Hi all I'm adding staff to the TT but I have hit an annoying snag. I have Registration in my TT as a lesson, however I don't want it to count in the lesson allocation for each teacher when I use the classes screen. Is there a way to ask Nova not to count it? Thanks Dave

Hi all In our school we often ask staff to fill in a 'Round Robin' on pupils if there are concerns or if there are conversations/meetings with parents imminent. I would like to use the 'Linked Documents' function on SIMS to link the word document to the pupil file. However I can see a problem: 1. Staff A opens the file, then gets distracted (as we all do at times) and leaves it open on their computer. 2. Staff B opens the file and fills it in and saves it onto SIMS. 3. Staff A remembers to save the file and saves it onto SIMS. Does this overwrite the one that Staff B uploaded, thereby effectively removing Staff B's comments? Would Staff B be able to open the document if Staff A had it open already (or get at 'read only' message like Windows gives us)? I can see it going horribly wrong if Staff C, D, E and F have all written lengthy comments and then Staff A uploads their almost blank document over the top! Thanks Dave

Hi We currently use the PupilRewardPoints.co.uk system and I'm investigating moving across to record achievement points on SIMS. How do schools convert achievement points into physical rewards for pupils? Does this have to be through third party software like Vivo? Many thanks Dave
