Hi
If I can impartially comment;
Licence-free is popular in primary schools, but be aware that you (and anyone else) can buy radios from Maplin, Asda etc that can listen and talk to you. They also have limited power (and therefore range) and, for the lower cost models, the quality is 'consumer' not 'business'.
Licensed radios will give you more power and thus range and, whilst not wholly private, are better suited. Some models do have encryption for passing sensitive information. Your choice is much wider and prices start from a similar level to their equivalent licence-free models. Licences are available from £75 for 5 years for the school (not per radio), but it's usually a good idea to take advice on this since this type of licence can be shared by other businesses.
