The very first thing to check with the "tolerance not met" message is disk space. Is there enough for the SQL backup that will be taken prior to applying the update (and each subsequent patch)?
-
We have been deploying to our supported schools the Summer 2017 Release with the associated patches (as posted by hiphopamus) in the following strict order: 1) Patch 23172 2) SIMS Summer 2017 Full Release 3) Patch 23173 4) SIMS Summer 2017 - Workstation Patch 1 – CTF Pupil Selection Fix Smooth running so far!

It sounds as if the file name you suggested when creating the maintenance dataset contains "illegal" characters (such as / or '). Try specifying a different file name (something simple) and try again. Failing that, the save location you specified may not be available or you may not have permissions to write to it. Please let us know how you get on.

It'll have to be released to your school by your LA support team or Capita, Steve.
-
Hurray! Happy days. I thin you should now take the rest of the week off. ;-)
-
Capita have just released patch number 18558 to fix the broadsheet time-out issue. Have you tried this one yet?

[sims] SIMS Migration to new Domain and Server
John_Howarth replied to ninjabeaver's topic in MIS Systems
No problem, Simon. Whenever you're ready. I'm glad you got your servers successfully migrated to Hyper-V. I'm guessing you've not had much time off though over the summer! -
Thanks for the update, Phil. I understand your position and decision to delay the release. The reason we're keen on getting our hands on 3.6 is the number of server migrations taking place during the holidays. We're having to leave old servers in place and running as we can't yet migrate SOLUS 3, which means extra work later on. If you need any help with pre-release testing, you need only ask. Please pass on our thanks to those tasked with getting SOLUS 3 back up and running after the server failures; it can't have been an easy week.
-
I've not heard anything yet, although the night is still young! I needed to migrate SOLUS 3 to a new server today so I could have done with it. Hey ho.
-
Capita have this afternoon released patch 18544 which reportedly resolves the broadsheet timeout issue.
-
You need a local connect.ini in C:\Program Files (x86)\SIMS\SIMS .net that looks something like this: [sIMSConnection] ServerName=SERVERNAME\SIMS2012 DatabaseName=EngWE ServerType=SIMSSQL DatabaseMode=OnLine [sIMSDatabases] FriendlyName0=Green Abbey Server0=SERVERNAME\SIMS2012 DatabaseName0=EngGA DatabaseMode0=Online FriendlyName1=Waters Edge Server1=SERVERNAME\SIMS2012 DatabaseName1=EngWE DatabaseMode1=Online FriendlyName2=School 3 Server2=SERVERNAME\SIMS2012 DatabaseName2=SIMS_3501234 DatabaseMode2=Online FriendlyName3=School 4 Server3=SERVERNAME\SIMS2012 DatabaseName3=SIMS_3509876 DatabaseMode3=Online Any problems, post back here!

Capita are currently testing a permanent fix to this issue and suggest it will be made available later today (possibly tomorrow now). In the meantime, some users and local SIMS support teams are now reporting that this issue is resolved if you run Database Diagnostics and Validate Memberships from within SIMS .net.
-
SOLUS 3 seems to be working again now. I can authorise patches and releases to schools as normal and they're being deployed as I type.
-
It's available via both SOLUS 2 and SOLUS 3 now guys. Please note that this patch is only applicable to the Summer 2013 Release (SIMS .net 7.152). Capita recommend re-importing the Performance Measures file following the successful application of patch 18525. They have released a new version with can be downloaded via SupportNet (details below): "A reported problem with Level 1 results not showing half points has been addressed with the production of a new performance file for England and Northern Ireland - SupportNet resource 21498. NB 21498 only needs to be imported by establishments that have level1 results but can be used if sites need to refresh the performance file."
