  1. Thank you for your reply! This is the way we used to have it but were advised to change because it it threw up so many errors with the census and therefore funding and also the timetables because we had Y12 students on the AS and the A Level course in the same year when they are only doing the one course.. if that makes sense! How did you get around this?
  2. As per advice from SIMS Support to help with census errors we changed the description of the levels for our AS and A2 subjects from GCEAS and GCEA to GCE2Y, a single course instead of two, we now have a problem when trying to link both AS and A level qualifications to the single course as you can only associate one qualification. All our students sit an AS exam at the end of year 12 followed by an A level exam at the end of year 13. How do we associate both the AS and the A2 qualifications to this same course? We cant seem to find a way and are very concerned that this change to help with the census is going to cause problems with conducting exams.
  3. Is anyone using Next Gen for conduct? I'm struggling to understand how this would work for behavior management. It doesn't write back to SIMS7 so any conduct event given to a student is given in isolation and nothing to do with his pupil record in SIMS. And no reporting? Or sending out alerts to parents or Heads of Year. Am I missing something? What is the point of it? How does it fit in with current practices? We were hoping to remove (stop paying for) the Teacher App and push teachers to use Next Gen instead as it looks great for registers, but our teachers enter in good and bad notes in the Teacher App and can't do the same thing in Next Gen conduct. Should we be hanging on to the Teacher App for now?
  4. I have been tasked with finding some software / templates which can get the purchase order approval online and minimise paper usage in the school, can anybody recommend software or companies that provide web parts or stand alone software that we can integrate into our current SharePoint 2010 set up? We are also using SIMS FMS. Ideally we would like an online purchase order form that departments can complete. The purchase order gets approved and then gets send to Finance. Im assuming this part is a straight forward InfoPath form with approval which I could possible do, but I know they would like to export the orders as an xml file which can then be imported into SIMS FMS. I'm not a coder. I'm looking for an out of the box solution, what is everyone else using?
