IT Support Manager A passionate forward thinking leading IT Solutions provider who invests in the future of schooling and education has an urgent requirement for an IT Support Manager based in a Coeducational Secondary School and Sixth Form, located in Southampton. The role will involve administration and troubleshooting within a Windows server 2008 / 2012 School / College network environment and the running of the day to day helpdesk onsite. Your responsibilities include: · Running the service desk and resolving 1st-2nd line support calls · Supporting and maintaining the IS infrastructure to ensure maximum service ability · Ensuring the senior engineer and CTS helpdesk are aware of any issues that need to be raised and escalated. · Supporting and managing key infrastructure projects · Keeping client informed of any IT related projects or issues · Managing the day to day workload of the IT Support Technician The successful IT Support Manager must have: · Experience in supporting IT in a controlled environment and previous experience of managing a small team and day to day projects/support · Microsoft server 2008 or 2012 Server skills, Active Directory DNS, DHCP, Group Policies and Exchange and Office 2010 / 365 skills desirable · Excellent communication skills both written and verbal · Experience in the education sector is desirable but not essential You must also be Microsoft qualified such as MCP/ MCSA/ MCSE/ MCTS or hold other industry recognised qualifications.   2. We currently have a permanent role available as an IT Technician - Desktop Support reporting to the Desktop Support Team Leader. The school situated in one of the most attractive and sought areas of North London. This is a full time role. This school is a flourishing coeducational independent school which includes the Senior School for pupils aged 11-18; the Junior School for pupils aged 7-11 and the Pre-Preparatory School for pupils aged 3-7. There are currently some 1,550 pupils and the School employs approximately 400 full-time or part-time teaching and support staff. The purpose of this job is to be responsible for ensuring that the IT and communications systems are fully able to support the teaching, learning and management of the School. Your duties will include: Application deployment to network computers using application packaging tools, Patching, installing and configuring computers, printers and other peripherals to work on the Foundation’s network, Using the SIMS provisioning tool to manage all pupil accounts as part of the starters and leavers process at the end of each academic year, Providing support and using remote control tools where appropriate to troubleshoot and resolve reported incidents with the end-users’ computer hardware or software, Ensuring that all requests and incidents reported to the Support Desk contact phone numbers are logged on the Service Desk, Creating and setting up phone extensions for new users, Liaising with third-party support companies and vendors to resolve any open Service Desk calls, Managing the deployment of Windows and other software updates to all computers, installing, maintaining and monitoring use of hardware and software and Analysing and resolving problems. In order to apply it is essential you have a mixture of the following technologies: Microsoft Windows 7, Microsoft Office 2007 or greater Active Directory, Exchange 2010, SCCM, Printer management, Troubleshooting hardware and applications issues, Installing and configuring network printers, Working with structured cabling systems like CAT5, CAT 5e etc, Service desk Call logging system. Also must have at least one of the following qualifications: MCSE, MCITP or MCTS We are looking for someone who can start this term or whenever they are available and has had a CRB check.
