  1. As a small, but expanding company, Burconix Ltd are looking for someone to assist with the day to day running of the support side of the business. A good phone manner and strong customer care ethic is essential. An ideal candidate will have previous experience of Windows Server and common server applications, with experience in troubleshooting issues, preferably with IT support experience in an educational establishment. Training would be provided by way of one on one time with existing field engineers in the office, including setting up and the configuration of test systems utilising the latest technologies in Server 2012R2, as well of use of internal documentation and internally developed engineer notes. This would initially be an office based role based in Nottingham City Centre. However there would be opportunities for a successful candidate to later progress into an on-site field engineer role as confidence was gained. Duties would include: - Answering the phone, often as first point of call for the company and relaying information to relevant person/logging the support call into an internal support database and reassuring the customer, this may also include briefly discussing new business leads if appropriate. - Initiating remote support sessions with customers. - Respond to electronic support requests submitted and obtain more information if required. - Develop and maintain internal test networks to simulate and diagnose issues. - Seek assistance with support from more senior engineers as required. - Work closely with other engineers to diagnose and resolve issues. - Develop and streamline existing internal procedures. - Testing of internally developed software. We provide nationwide support to small business and educational establishments.We are currently looking to expand our Engineering department and are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual with technical experience of Microsoft Windows Networks. An ideal candidate would have previous experience working in an IT support role within a school or college.The role will involve visiting customer sites located throughout the UK as well as time spent in the office learning new skills and providing customer support. The successful candidate would be given specific training tasks to undertake, building on their existing knowledge.
