Ninja Blocks look fine to me? it's all just open source arduino after all. The core blocks contain a 'power block' type thing - turning on/off the TV, surround sound and media player etc are all essentially in built functionality. Ninja blocks also has a huge community with projects like controlling TVs etc. If it was me personally i'd go for Ninja Blocks which is the cheaper option..

I bought a Navy Raven as soon as I could quite a few years back - I was entirely underskilled for a raven but bought the most expensive option. The way I see it, if you go on the ship's mastery page and you aren't fully skilled to AT LEAST lvl 2 mastery then don't use the ship. I could barely run missions with it so it was worthless but I kept it because it was pretty - in reality I could've and should've used that money to completely T2/faction up a battlecruiser. What I'm trying to say is that you should focus on getting very good in the smaller ships before you move onto bigger ships, Drake's can be very good ships but if you're not skilled well to use them they'll pop quickly and it's a lot of ISK wasted.

Close, Player-Owned-Starbase. A starbase is a tower or collection of structures, you can't dock in them. There are also outposts which are player/corp-owned stations which you can dock in, however they can't be deployed in wormhole space. My plan is basically this, me and my friend will set up a corp and deploy a POS with a hangar, maintenance array and probably some research post - I'll get maybe a week or two worth of fuel and then use my main and alts planetary skills to set up a whole bunch of PI for some minor passive income. My friend and I in our beefed up battlecruisers will also go do sites to get more money (then switching to my Stratios for data/relics and my indy alt for mining at the sites).

I had a quick look at PIR switches and it seems that the maximum "light on" time varies but isn't very high at all (like 20 minutes), what physical limitation is stopping them from 'not sensing' for an hour or two? how annoying..

In null, there can be stations but they're owned by player corps so you won't be able to dock. In -1.0, there are no stations at all (Thera is an exception) - the only thing there are POS, in terms of being actually 'safe' you either have to hide cloaked or hide inside a POS bubble. It's really a no-mans-land.

Scan cosmic signatures, oh look a wormhole! go through wormhole, end up in either high sec, low sec, null sec or wormhole space. In wormhole space, no one can claim sovereignty, and no one can see your name in local chat! if you have a cloaking device, you're essentially hidden. The moons, planets etc down in wormhole space are considerably better than the ones higher up too. I've been essentially living in Thera recently but I want to move to my own little wormhole space. It's quite exciting because the entrances and exits to the wormhole space are essentially random.

Death, explosions, maybe fireworks? Any idea what region you were in? In a few days my PoS will be ready in w-space and we can all have a party inside the bubble.

Mine was my own fault too, I made the mistake of turning on autopilot! came back after getting a drink just as my indy blew up - I panicked and tried to warp in my pod but I think I kinda just blacked out or something because before I knew it that was gone too. Afterwards I was just like "woah" because of the adrenaline, no other game has ever been able to generate that same feeling. This, if you post your ship and fitting etc we'll give you advice too. Are you in a corp or just the standard one? you should probably consider joining an indy corp so that you can do some mining ops in a fleet, it's much more fun. edit A few years ago on here someone set up the channel "EduGeek" with the password "geek" so we could try that.

Have any capsuleers engaged you yet? the first time another player tries (or succeeds) to pop you is intense. I still remember the first time I got podded and that was something like 7 years ago.

Not really, under 2 million ISK and a few skills and you're all set. I've made one in the past so I've got the skills, I just need one to set up a POS properly so it was more of a joke.
