  1. Queen Elizabeth's Grammar, Station Road, Alford, Lincolnshire, LN13 9HY Queen Elizabeth’s is a friendly school community with high expectations. We are looking to appoint an ICT technician who will help maintain our ICT systems and support its users. The role could also include some web development work for the right candidate. We currently have 5 members of the department 4 of whom also contribute to the maintenance of the network and our primary school networks. This is an exciting time to join a well-resourced and forward-thinking department. The academy has more than 250 PCs running Windows 7/10 and over 70 Netbooks/Laptops with a nearly-full wireless site. Our server operating system is Windows Server 2008/2012 and we make good use of virtualisation. All teaching rooms have projectors and many have Smartboard interactive whiteboards. We also manage four local primary schools’ networks and we can remotely manage many facilities within their schools. We have a range of software available but the main packages used by the school are Microsoft Office 2016, Adobe Design Premium Suite CS4, VisualStudio, Smart Notebook and Recorder. Job Details The main purpose of the job is to ensure the smooth running of both our network and its satellite sites at our ICT managed primary schools. Key tasks - Primary Schools: Visit the primary schools on the schedule agreed with them Ensure that we are maintaining our service level agreement To maintain an effective and efficient network for each primary school Ensure that the primary schools’ data is secure from viruses and protected by backups Installation of software onto classroom computers and also onto their network servers Make recommendations on the purchase of hardware and software and complete purchase orders Work with external ICT contractors to ensure that the work that is being carried out meets the needs of the school To maintain effective documentation of the network To update their websites as requested Network: Install applications onto our network servers and onto individual machines To implement changes to the school’s Active Directory Group Policies in consultation with the Network Manager To check server logs for errors and make fixes based on the issues as well as report them to the Network Manager as needed To maintain effective documentation of the network User Support: To support the delivery of lessons that involves the use of ICT equipment To offer first line and second line support to the network’s users Support the implementation and delivery of ICT and Computing lessons Content Development: ​To help develop digital content as required To develop and maintain our radio station and train students in its use at lunchtimes & break times To develop and update our websites as required
