  1. I know this is an old thread but it came up during a search for this issue and I fixed the problem using some extra steps from the last response provided. The power went off during a firmware update of my 800 Series board. I had the yellow flashing light. This is what I did: Connected a USB cable to the board from my computer. Normally my boards are connected to the computer using Cat5e cabling and the CAT5-XT module in the pen tray. Run SmartFirmwareUpdater.exe which is located under "C:\Program Files (x86)\SMART Technologies\SMART Product Drivers" on a Windows 7 x64 system. The utility will show the board as being current on it's firmware and will let you check the box but the Next button will be grayed out. Press Shift-Ctrl-F. This will allow you to select the board and click Next to proceed. The board will show an IP address under the Current Version column. When I went to proceed, I got an error that the Firmware failed to update and a button to retry. Just clicking Retry gave the same result. While at this screen, I unplugged the USB cable then plugged it back in, waiting for the Windows sounds indicating a device was unplugged, then plugged back in. Then I clicked Retry and the firmware updated normally. Not sure this will work for everyone but it worked for me. Hope this helps someone.
