After 3 wasted nights of Windows re-installs and every permutation of drivers known to man, I bought a replacement card for £1.20 off ebay. Plugged it in and it works first time Cry God for Ebay, England, and Saint George!

Already updated BIOS and wifi is enabled. BIOS diagnostic test reported no problems. Same problem in safe mode. I have tried drivers direct from intel site also. I've repeatedly tried all of the cmd lines also... There is a guy on a DELL forum who listed 6 key drivers and a specifc order to install them, which I have also tried to no avail. I mainly use the laptop wirelessly to connect to my tv (to watch the footy from fsi) and managed to get around it bouncing the laptop to my tv via the ipad and splahtop, but the wifi not working is just insane. I'd rather not have to open the laptop up. I'll wait and see if any other ideas emerge... and yes, I have pressed ctrl + F2 !!!

Ok, not a school related issue, but I am a teacher! Dell Inspiron 1545 used to connect fine to my home Wireless - now doesn't. It can detect my wireless link, but not connect to it. NOTHING has been changed prior top this happening. The router itself is fine and other devices connect to it no problem. The laptop connects with the ethernet cable plugged in fine. (using it now) I have tried the following to correct issue: * Full Windows 7 re-install / Full Windows Update * Re-install drivers from dell site. * Reset router to factory settings * IP Config renew / flush dns etc..etc... * Laptop does not connect to other wifi * Uninstalled antivirus / firewall etc... Could it be a hardware fault???? Would really appriciate help - wasted about 4 hours on this.
