  1. Ahh yes, this might be the problem!
  2. Now that you have added the network access account, can you post the ccm.log again? It should have a different error this time. Your account is 100% domain admin? No restrictions?
  3. Also, what OS is the client?
  4. Is it possible that I could remotely connect and have a look? Use Teamviewer or something? PM me if you like (If we find a solution, we will post it here for others). Would be useful to be able to see the setup of SCCM you have.
  5. Okay. Can you check the Route tables on the server? Open cmd and type "Route print". Check the routes and make sure they are all correct. You can do "Route delete *" and that will remove them all, but if you have some set up already, I wouldn't recommend it unless you can get them back to how you want them easily. Otherwise, check the Network Access Account which you have assigned to SCCM. 1. Open the SCCM Console and go to "Administration" from the bottom left menu 2. Expand Site Configuration and select "Sites" 3. Right click on your site, move down to the "Configure Site Components" menu and select "Software Distribution". 4. Click on the "Network Access Account" Check the account in there is a domain admin for the computers in question. If it isn't, add one that is and try again.
  6. Hi, So the problem might be either networking or the service account which you have assigned to SCCM. As you have managed to install the client on SOME computers, my guess would be that the service account is fine (assuming they are all part of the same domain...etc). I had this problem recently in fact with a server which had a different set up for networking (Hyper-V servers). I had set some route adds on the SCCM Server it self a while ago to be able to get across the VLANs. The network VLANs had changed but I hadn't removed the route adds. Removed all of the route adds, as we now have a firewall in place which also does the routing (PFSense), and it worked fine. So, I would check: 1. Log on to the server 2. Try to manually reach the C$ of a machine in question (You might be able to, but not 100%. I could C$ one of my servers, but not the other lol). 3. Try to ping if you cannot C$ 4. check the networking on both the server and client ends. Check switch configurations and ports and make sure they can all see each other from client to server and server to client Hope this helps
  7. If you intergrate Right Click Tools into SCCM you can ping collections of computers. so create a collection for each lab, or what ever your needs are, right click on the collection, and ping collection ConfigMgr 2012 Powershell Right Click Tools v1.4 Released!
  8. Hi, I know this might "bump" this post, but I thought I'd reply for you. I use SCCM 2012 R2 on a VMWare server. I have given it 4 processors and 10gb ram. We have around 700 clients and 1000 users and it seems to run fine. Originally I had given it just 8gb, but I upped it to 10 and it fixed numerous problems with response times/speed and since then it's been fine. Ideally it should have quite a bit more ram, but I don't currently have the resources to give it (hopefully soon though!!!). I see you said about having the SQL Server elsewhere for it. Personally, I would say it would be best to keep the SCCM Server to it self entirely. SQL and SCCM on the same box (that's how I have it with that spec). You should find it will run a little better. With it being virtual, you don't have to worry so much about problems as you can snapshot...etc, but I have NEVER had any problems and I have had it like this for over 12 months now. Just give it a reboot say once a week or so. Hope this helps. Phil
  9. What OS's are your clients? If you go to "C:\Windows\" look for a folder called "ccmsetup". If that's there, SCCM is able to contact the client machine. Within that folder there should be a "Logs" folder (so: "C:\Windows\ccmsetup\Logs"). Look for a log called "ccmsetup.log". If you can get hold of that, please post the file on here (attach it rather than copy and paste the data). If that's not there, go on to the SCCM server it self, go to the install location (in my case I have it on the D: drive away from the system drive), and go to: D:\Program Files\Microsoft Configuration Manager\Logs Post the log file called: "Ccm.log" Phil
  10. From what I've been told, Capita have been involved, but as j17sparky has said, no resolution to the problem has been found. We are trying to get users to use email anyway, so until we get a chance to do a complete re-install (which would be huge I'm guessing as it would need to be from scratch), I think maybe disabled messaging (if possible???) and force users to email? Phil
  11. It is the built in system and mostly occurs in messaging, but it has been happening else where like registers...etc.
  12. Hi, many thanks for the quick reply!!! Well the error you see above is actually from my screen (IT Admin for the school). I haven't read my messages on SIMS for about a month and have around 60. Opening each one and deleting them in turn eventually causes SIMS to crash on my workstation (as it does for many other uses doing the same thing, or things like registers). In my mind, I'm not actually DOING anything (not saving...etc), just deleting messages from my own SIMS in box. I'm not going at a great speed as I do read the messages people send me, so it's not like I'm opening, deleting, opening, deleting...etc. There are pauses between each action. The crash can occur either when opening a message or deleting one. I watched "pulsar.exe" and it takes no more than 64mb or RAM (seen some of the crash errors about high memory usage). I'm not really one for SQL, so not sure what to look for, sorry!! . Hope this makes sense. Phil
  13. Hi all, We are using SIMS in my school and it is constantly crashing. It has been doing this for years (apparently). I have recently joined and decided I would try to figure out why. The server it self it less than 12 months old and could handle much more than just SIMS (but all it does is the SQL and SIMS), so perfectly good for the job. Anyway, the instance it self has been moved from server to server (to preserve the data). It is running on Server 2012 R2. SIMS seems to crash mostly when reading messaged. You get the error like this: Has anyone had the same problem, or similar? And been able to fix it ? Thanks, Phil (P.S. I am very tired and have written this quite quickly, so there could be all sorts or grammar and spelling mistakes!! Sorry!).
