Hey guys, I need some serious help here. At uni, we are using computers for a tripple boot system, windows xp prof, windows server 2003, and the linux program susey 10.3. The thing is, i was going to get a laptop so that i could load all three onto it, and not have to worrie about corrupting my home computer, as my tutor has already said that we will be corrupting and fixing problems, though i want a laptop also for notes ect in class. So the main reason i have come to you guys is because the tutor bloke has said that susey 10.3 can course major problems on "some" laptops, so i need a laptop that is going to def work, and i hope you guys will know what im on about and what sort of laptop i need. OFC im not rich so a normal laptop will do, i think it needs to be around 140gb, so it can be bigger to be safe. any idea's guys?. cheers bod.

Hey guys.. What do you guys think i should buy? i cant make my mind up ... ipod looks ok, but i have herd people complain about iTunes a lot, so it kind of puts me of.. but if the ipod is worth it then i would just have to put up with it. mp3 player, is what i used to have, a memory stick shaped one, although im looking for a iPod style mp3, although the only ones i could find was kind of pricey for that type of touch style. mp4, i believe the only extra thing for this is the video quality ect, or is there more too it? i need to buy one tonight, going up north tomorrow, so off to spend more money..

Verizon, perhaps?” Customer: “I suppose I should order some internet.” Me: “…you haven’t even signed up for it yet!?” Customer: “I wanted to do it on the internet.” Me: *head explodes*

Hello guys, Currently, we are using a program called folderShare, its very useful, quick and has done what we needed it to do. It allows the 4 computers in this office to just share things when we need too. Although the boss wants the quotes ect to be shared all the time and accessible by all. The problem is 3 of the computers are windows, which i know how to network, although my question is, is it possible to network the Mac laptop with the windows pc so when its in the office it can access the folder also. Is this possible, and what is the best way to do it?. If not do i need to run to the shop and buy my boss a windows laptop . /bod

Bournemouth University | Courses | Computer Networking (with Cisco) that is the course btw, the course is at alot of uni's around england though, so just going to start applying now. Looks good tbh.

Hello EduGeeks, I have been reading forums for a while now, made my self a member after a while of just reading your guys suggestions and tips and I enjoy reading. Although now I was kind of hopping you guys could give me some advice on what to do. I’m 18 and live down in Bournemouth southern England; I finished my nvq 2 last year and am currently doing my nvq3 at Bournemouth college at the moment. They are going to speed everything up for me so I can complete it by September so I can go to uni this year. I was hopping to go on and do networking with some cisco involved course. Though my problem is my work arrangement is exactly the best, its more of a place that I can run the item systems standing on my head, and im not really learning much as such. Although I can complete the nvq3 course by just writing up info for my portfolio, I’m worried about going to uni and not knowing the basics that I might need to know for the networking and cisco course. Therefore what do you guys suggest? I was thinking of books, but I don’t know where to start to look, I found networking for dummies on the net but is that really what I need to get?. Something I could get to read to build up my knowledge or something to work through on my own computer. Its kind of hard to get a decent job in what I can learn this with on hands experience at my age, employers are only looking for well educated people (on paper anyways) so I’ve decided to teach myself and put myself through uni and get what I need on paper. Any help would be great. I know your all busy at work ect, but any suggestions on books or sites ect will be greatly appreciated. Cheers Bod

same as we get here at college, same error its to do with the DNS, but i dont think the tech staff know how to fix it. It also does it on random websites sometimes too, kind of an annoying problem to say the least.
