Hi, just wondering how to enable the group policy settings so that on a client pc joined to a domain it says "Please Wait For The User Profile Services" , "Applying Folder Redirection Policy" etc... How do I get that to show on the client pc, I know its under Group Policy, Computer Policy, Administrative Templates, but that's all??? Also how can I get a group policy to apply to a specific group or GPO on group policy, say if I was deploying software to a couple of machines, but not all of them on the entire network?? I'm currently using Windows Server 2008 R2 Data Centre, but I'm fairly new to it as just got it setup in my home environment, but not fully setup yet it you know what I mean? Any replies would be appreciated. Dan

So, I don't need to use DHCP at all then?? and on the client pc, I would go into the network properties and change the ip, subnet and default gateway to the DC settings?? Thanks

Yeah, I know how to join the pc's to the DC, how do I setup DHCP on the server? add role, DHCP? are the ip addresses correct that I used?

Hi, I wondered if anyone can help, I have bought a sever and installed windows server 2008 R2 and set it up as a DC with AD on. I have set a static I.P as 192.168.0.92 Subnet: 255.255.255.0 DG: 192.168.0.1 The router is the DHCP Server, so how can I get the computers in my house (running windows 7 pro and windows 8.1 enterprise) to join the DC? If anyone could help this would mean a lot... Thanks Dan
