Hey Craig, Glad to hear I'm not the only one. No, I haven't. I've tried various settings in the menu too, but nothing seems to fix it. In fact some teachers are telling me that it does the same thing if they 'freeze' the screen. It will just randomly turn off and set the display to 'show only on 1', i.e. the monitor so they have to re-duplicate. I do wonder if it's a bug within the firmware as we've had these Newline TVs for years now and we never had this issue. It doesn't seem to be all of them however but I guess that depends on how they're used by the teacher. Ben

Cheers Potnoodle. I think I know what's causing it. The ports on pretty much all the PC's on the side are stripped. So I'm guessing they're plugging them into those ports, it doesn't work and breaks the peripheral and so when they try another working port around the back the peripheral is already knackered. I've taped all the USB ports on the side now.

Hey guys, Wondered if anyone had experienced issues with Stone PC's from 2019 with keyboards and mice. We have about 12 of these and they constantly break keyboards and mice, as in they no longer work no matter what USB port you plug them in to. The count must be on about 20 at the minute. I've tried them in my PC and sure enough, they don't work. It's as if they're overvolting them or something. I think some of the ports are broken (possibly the side USB's) but I've never known it to wreck peripherals. Is there any setting in Windows or the bios that I can do? Cheers, Ben

Hey guys, Anyone come across this issue with the Newline TV's. They're set to duplicate but when some of the teachers flip between a YouTube video and a PowerPoint presentation, as in just minimising one, for some reason the TV decides to only display on the PC so all the pupils see is a loading circle on the Newline on a black screen. To fix it the teacher has to go to display settings and re-duplicate the displays. It's weird. Is there a setting I'm missing? I've checked PowerPoint and the setting to automatically extend display is off, or does that need to be on? Cheers, Ben

All sorted. I think it was the input select. I thought I was selecting the HDMI but I wasn't. Would have been a lot easier with a remote but that went walkies

Thanks Zourous. I did read somewhere that they need short HDMI cables, which makes it pretty pointless having them installed. I'm sure the one I plugged into the panel directly was 3 metres but didn't seem to work. It's really annoying and all the kids come back Wednesday. Think I have a booster somewhere which I can try with the 3 metre cable.

Cheers Steveg. I will try different HDMI cables on Monday. I had issues on another one and somehow managed to get it working. From memory I think I used different HDMI cables.

Hey people, Wondering if anyone can shed any light on a slight issue with an older Smart panel model. I think it's an E70 or a 4870? Something like that. It was hooked up via VGA before and worked fine, now it's HDMI. Only problem is I'm getting no signal on any of the HDMI's. The PC is a Dell AIO, brand new, Windows 10 Edu, Duplicating displays etc. It's detecting the second display, the sound is there but the panel is just displaying 'no signal'. It's as if it's out of range or something because if I touch the panel I see where I am touching on the computer screen, but it's not displaying an image. Can anyone help? I can't imagine that all HDMI ports are shot as they've never been used. It's got about a 5 metre cable kit running to a face plate with two HDMIs. However I've also tried plugging a 3 metre HDMI directly into the PC to the Panel to bypass the faceplate and that didn't work either? Any help much appreciated, Cheers Ben

No not yet. I'll give it a go. We do have quite a few of the new Smart TV's, they're great but expensive, you're talking about £3500 per room. Plus we only had four days in the holiday at an already busy time of year. Thanks for the help guys by the way.

I thought I'd post here to get a quick response as I break up today for two weeks, so there isn't much point in logging a call with Smart. Also the more I read up on this problem I do believe I am correct in thinking that the EB-X20 only supports 16:9 where as the board is designed 16:10 so there is a mismatch.

Hi People, Quick question wondered if anyone else has come across it. We recently installed a new smartboard M600 into a room with an Epson EB-X20 projector. Problem is the board has a dead spot in the top left and therefore I can't orient it as it won't let me click the first point. However if I change the resolution to 1280:800 on the PC, which I believe is 16:9 native, which is what the projector supports it's fine but the image is then letter boxed and doesn't fill the smartboard. I can't seem to find a way around this. I've tried all sorts of combinations of resolutions/aspect ratios and basically if the image takes up all of the smartboard the top left of the board is unusable. The EB-X20 is ceiling mounted on a pole and is maybe 3-4 metres away. Is the projector the problem here as we have the smartboard else where but with wall mounted short throw projectors, namely the EB-480 and Lightrise 60wi and we have no issues. Any ideas? Looking at the picture on Smart it shows the board with a short throw wall mounted one which worries me and confirms my suspicions to a degree. Well UEFI didn't seem to work with the image. It's good to know I can boot using a USB in UEFI though so something good has come from this. Thanks for all your help everyone. CheeseDog, I know how you feel.

Cheesedog/Sted you legends. It was CSM. b****y Bio's they're getting more and more annoying. Thanks for the help guys. I've learnt more about UEFI at least.

I am using the latest win10 image 1607 for CC4 build but it doesn't appear to recognise the image once I enter the admin user and pass to get the build going.

Ah there is CSM and it's disabled, what does that do? Only other option is Enable/Disable secure boot, but no other OS, which I'm pretty familiar with as I used to boot from USB a lot so am used to configuring the Bios to legacy but this one seems pure UEFI.

Pretty sure it is Sever 2012 R2. Using Rufus I've got it to boot from a USB (Thanks Steve) but now I'm getting an image error. I'm guessing what you've pointed out Sted. It's PE10 I think, which I'm guessing isn't compatible with UEFI?

Yeah I have, the only option is Network Stack enable or disable and it's enabled by default. The network boot initially works then throws up a really fast error and continues with a normal boot from the hard drive.

Hi Steve, I use the RM tool called PrepUSB. I'm guessing it's pretty dated now as it only seems to support FAT 16/32 and NTFS. It worked fine on Windows 7 but I've been using the network boot recently as it's more straight forward with the Bio's getting more complicated. What do i need then? Rufus?

Hey guys, RM CC4 network and I'm trying to build a computer with a Jupiter/H110 board. Unfortunately its a UEFI bios and I can't for the life of me get it to recognise any form of USB build/CD ROM. It won't even network boot, even though that works fine on other PCs which are new but support UEFI and Standard Bio's. Any ideas? There has to be a way. It has Windows 10 pre-installed and I'm trying to install Windows 10 1607 build for CC4. Thanks, Ben

Can you explain PXE boot please. I just tried it and worked, getting the server address. I then selected which build disk I wanted, Windows 7 (3.1). It then threw up an error as it couldn't find the network card driver even though that disk definitely does have it as it's the build I always use. I assume the server is checking there for the network driver? The card in the PC is a very generic one to, a realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller. Thanks, Ben

Ah okay Nick. I'll give the CD a try, like you I've got loads to do. How was the update to the build area applied is it just a server update that you run on your build server? I managed to solve it on a stone AIO PC by setting the USB support from part initial to full initial in the bios. This mini Skylake pc though doesn't appear to have that option. Thanks, Ben
