Hi TechMonkey, Yes you are right, the number of extra garments that could be made is 333. The question is, how would you spread the extra amount in the same proportion as the original amounts? "Pro Rata" ie 100 in size 10, 500 in size 12 and 400 in size 14. As regards to the fire, that is next week. (Very old joke)

That remains constant. What needs to change is the number of garments for each size when the amount of fabric required to manufacture each garment changes.

I have to manufacture 1000 garments. Each garment will require on average 2mts of fabric. I need to make a number of garments in different sizes. 100 in size 10, 500 in size 12 and 400 in size 14. The total amount of fabric available is 2000 mts. How do I pro rata the number of garments of each size to be made, if the average amount of fabric required per garment is 1.5 mts?
