  1. Hi all, Wasn't sure where to post this, but here goes. Strange situation, I have an ipad and laptop running windows 8 and live mail. I have set my email account (blueyonder) up on both as a POP account and both are set to leave a copy of the email on the server, I have gone to the settings for the email account online and ensured POP is enabled. So; When I send an email to my address, if i check for new mail on the ipad, the email comes in and then I can check for new mail in Windows Live Mail and the email comes in, it's fine. However, If I check for a new mail on windows live mail the email only comes to live mail, the mail never ever gets to the ipad. So I can only get emails on both devices if I literally win a race to pull down any new mails on the ipad before Windows Live Mail gets the chance. What on earth is going on?!? Cheers, thanks in advance.
  2. Further development, I can't seem to ping the static IP 80.229.102.10 from the office. If I remote onto the server I can ping the IP fine? Also here is the bounce back error from failed emails (I've removed the email address for obvious reasons, it was spelled right) Reporting-MTA: dns; c2bthomr09.btconnect.com Arrival-Date: Wed, 5 Feb 2014 15:35:37 GMT Final-Recipient: RFC822; Action: failed Status: 5.1.2 Remote-MTA: DNS; 10.87.69.233 Last-Attempt-Date: Wed, 5 Feb 2014 16:48:41 GMT
  3. I wondered such a thing myself, however we've spoken to the host and they are telling us all is well. If we do an nslookup for the domain name and mail.domain name they seem to resolve fine to the IP we expect which is 80.229.102.10 If I do a trace route for the 80.229.102.10 I'm eventually hit with timeouts from 15 onwards, the last IP it can't get past is 84.92.7.173 which seems to be something to do with plus-net after some searching.
  4. Hi everyone, We have a server running SBS 2011 with Exchange 2010 and over the last couple of weeks seem to have developed a peculiar problem. Users are unable to receive certain external mail, If I send an email from gmail or Hotmail etc the email will arrive just fine. However if I send one from our personal email address or if a customer wants to send one in from @chickenshop.co.uk or what ever....the emails never arrive. We have a spam filter that the emails hit first, there are no signs of the emails on this server either, if we remove the spam filter and let all emails though they still don't arrive. So long story short, emails from gmail/hotmail etc arrive just fine, emails from @'companyname'.com go into oblivion. Does anyone have any suggestions? oh also, this is a recent fault, until recently it was absolutely fine and there have been no changes made to the server or router, internet provider etc. Cheers, thanks in advance.
  5. Hi, looks like it was just a question of waiting for everything to settle back down, drive mapping returned to normal with no further action taken, but it did take an hour or so to relax even after a couple of reboots and DNS flushes. As for the emails, exchange was set up to receive external emails from 0.3 which is a separate spam filter, but the entry was deleted. If definitely seems someone has got on to the server and fiddled with some settings, unfortunately I can't find anything in the event log so we're having to change the password and cross our fingers.
  6. Hi all, I've heard good things about these forums so hopefully someone somewhere can give me a lift. Last night for reasons we are still looking into a static IP on one of our customers server was changed, from 0.1 to 0.2. This caused a great deal of problems. Everything is slowly falling back into place but for now the mapped network drives are always asking for credentials before they can be accessed, this happens every time you log in. There is also a problem with exchange/outlook, users are 'working offline' and are unable to connect, at the moment this isn't the end of the world as the OWA is accessible. We where wondering if there was a possible trust issue, but we could really do without having to rejoin every user to the domain. Has anyone any ideas? Cheers.
