Hi there, We use Ranger remote 10.5 (upgrading soon) in our school, one of the teachers uses the web blocking module to limit access to certain sites. This seems to be affecting our print server, which uses a web interface to allow users to print (as well as the antivirus updater), is there a way to allow winHTTP through the web blocker module?? thanks

This worked wonderfully! The only problem I'm having now is that adobe software wont work as the student doesn't have permission to use adobe updater, but they have!

I know its old but we haven't got round (don't want the hassle) to upgrading it yet. I have pretty much no knowledge in this department, only what I have learned by just doing stuff. I want to allow pages, keynote and numbers in a group but it won't let me as its not installed on the server. The applications are installed locally on all macbooks but when a user logs in pages, numbers etc are not on the dock. here is a screenshot of a group that does this http://i.imgur.com/waCT2ij.jpg but I want to do this for another group, can this be done without installing on the server? thanks

Installing Client configuration in Ranger 10.5
Netman-03 replied to Netman-03's topic in Network and Classroom Management
Hi, I've disabled the toolbar but they still can chat by just clicking on the little yellow star, and choose chat. I can disable but it is a very long winded process, so I thought there must be an easier way! -

How do you remove the toolbar? They get to it by clicking on the little star in the tasktray -

Yes Ranger Remote control, I've heard that as well! I have looked at the manual but I can't seem to see how to do what I want to do. I would be very grateful of any help! Thanks in regards with an upgrade, the powers that be have been notified, 2 years ago! -
Yes I know its old but the school I work at still use it. An issue has arisen where the students are spamming the teacher with chat messages or support request, does any one know how I can deploy a client profile (how to create on as well!) to all machines? I tried to send a profile from one of the machines but it just errors out saying "client not available, reverting back to older configuration" thanks

Hi there, I was wondering if anyone could help me. I'm a network technician at a school who are using Ranger 10.5 for classroom management. it has come to my attention lately that the students are "spamming" the teacher with chat messages, I have disabled the toolbar that is installed with the client but I don't know how to remove the star icon in the system tray, which is what they are now using the send the chat now the toolbar is gone. I was looking at this thread http://www.edugeek.net/forums/network-classroom-management/13206-ranger-remote-control-disable-help-requests.html but it is very old and I'm not sure if this applies. we have no support with the software anymore as its donkeys old but it still works for what we need, so we don't want/need to upgrade. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
