I'm sorry but I don't know. We are unable to get on to the Linux box as we are a windows only domain. We are not quite believing our supplier so were doing some investigations ourselves before we accept their negative outlook.

Thanks, I thought that but our supplier did not suggest it so thought it may not be an option. Do you have a solution for the courses going in alphabetical order, I think it is version 2.4 ?

We are having a new moodle site set up and have been told the courses come out on the front page in a random order. Is it possible to put our courses on our moodle site alphabetically, and our year groups running from 7 to 13 rather than 13 to 7? there must be a setting that allows this but I am not having much luck with a solution.

I notice several of you have had various problems with Realsmart. We are looking at Webanywhere and Realsmart any tips or suggestions, good or bad points, dos or don'ts greatly appreciated.

We have also been asked to get ready for this survey, with a condensed set of instructions and a USB key. We too have concerns. What software ? website ? are the students going to have to access to complete the survey ? and why do students need admin rights ?, why does it tell us not to update the anti-virus software on the USB drive ? We are going to make sure our anti-virus software is up to date and run a scan on their memory stick ! Does anyone have any answers?

We solved that problem by padlocking the cables to the case through the security latch, they are then unable to pull them through to plug in the front. As regards unsupervised access, all our IT rooms are locked until there is a teacher with the students. No student is allowed in an IT room without supervision except our 6th form and ......guess what...no plates missing there!

Thank you just had our DT Technician up to look at doing a similar idea to yours. Unfortunately there is not much inside those cases to attach anything to but he seems to have a solution in mind.

We have a number of Dell SFF optiplex machines with blanking plates covering the 3.5in opening. We have found that a number have been pushed in or removed allowing students to remove or tamper with RAM. We have tried replacing these plastic covers with the same covers with the same effect as they have little tabs to hold them in place (easily snapped off!),these also work out at £10 each. Does anyone know or have a solution to this problem? We have tried a metal cover covering the hole but this just gets bent allowing access again as there is nowhere inside the machine to secure it on all edges.
