  1. Thanks for looking into this; I've a funny feeling that it was something up with their uk site; I've tried it again and all is working. It was the error message that made me suspect our filter, but maybe it was a fault at their end that was triggering it. Thanks for looking into it.
  2. The site's USA pages are fine (not helpful in the UK). Anything under uk.mantralingua.com is interrogated and reported as blocked by our perimeter Firewall (reason: games). We haven't blocked it. It's on non https site so it isn't due to inspection there. I tried adding it to a category for whitelisting but it made no difference. It's one of the few sites offering schools multilingual texts in a variety of languages that are useful to our school. Anyone else had experiences of it?
  3. https://microbit.org is the updated url for the site but it still has to go into the exceptions in Smoothwall to use the Javascript Editor (PXT)
  4. Our school became one of the many who joined it last year. It's a new school year and many students have forgotten their passwords. It didn't used to be a problem, just send a password reset request from the site and an email would return fairly promptly and they were back on the course. This facility has stopped working and no password resets have been received. I tried it too without success. The only method of contact is to put in a support request and that too ended without a response. One of the teachers has tried to get a password reset from home (in case our filtering/firewall was somehow to blame) but again no response. Is anyone else getting this problem?
  5. It is worth putting in a support ticket to Smoothwall as we had exactly the same issues. It needed a new category, search term patterns setting up to catch the 'unblocked games' sites and ensuring that this category was at an appropriate level in the hierarchy to get priority over other rules. You also must enforce decryption of the https traffic (which you need to do anyway these days for Google searches in general.) As this is fairly dependant on the way your site is set up Smoothwall's support guys will probably need to remote in and be given admin access to the web front end. They know their stuff and this isn't the first school they have set up!
  6. I've had similar problems - some staff have every move logged, most have nothing at all - date filters don't. I have asked our LA team to investigate. However it's low priority so don't hold your breath. I suspect the problem is that it is a 'heritage' application interfacing poorly with .net and even less so since the SQL 2005 came on stream. What is needed is a proper .net / SQL version. According to the latest available Road Map (item 13512 on Capita's Supportnet) a new version is predicted for Autumn this year starting in the August release and adding to its functionality in September. We live in hope...
  7. It's STILL down - anything to do with the error message we're getting on updated modules eg Exams and Assessment Manager?!! :!:
