  1. Hi guys, Just wondering if any of you guys had experience with backing up a mapped network drive at lets say 2am? I would like my machine to wake itself up (It's always put to sleep) Login and then do a backup onto an external USB hard drive. http://puu.sh/6TdLb.png
  2. Probably end of next week? After the Micro PC prize?
  3. Try what I did, Tell them you're leaving via ticket. Say you're cancelling the payment and actually cancel it... legally you've told them and you've cancelled and they will send you threats...Ignore them... That's what I did
  4. Been with 1 & 1 personally with court threats etc. Tried telling me I was still paying for a product which I cancelled a month after purchasing... this was 4 years later... I also hated their service and customer support.
  5. I can vouch for Vida, lovely guys
  6. This is where my lack of networking knowledge comes in handy. (Not haha). not entirely sure we are all on a domain? We aren't connecting via a server, everyone is a singular machine and we connect to a cloud based server by mapping the drive. Our Workgroup is "WORKGROUP" edit: Have an account on this machine which is using the remote desktop control software, I have allowed RDC on the other machine (Mark-Laptop). Both machines have an account called Profile Admin Both on the Workgroup: "WORKGROUP" http://puu.sh/6R1ku.png edit2: The more I read into this the more it feels i need to be on a domain Can't really swap to a domain, to many machines. That and some machines are taken out and about :/
  7. Trying to connect via hostname, but it says I don't have permission. I take it I need to setup remote desktop to be allowed?
  8. Hey Abaddon, Thanks, I found it by going to the last page The forum was slightly confused but I downloaded it. Shame there's no instructions?

  10. I think I remember using VNC with an old linux machine of mine? Any personal preference of VNC you think suites well?
  11. Hi guys, Looking for a free remote desktop alternative for all the work machines. Something I can use to just jump on and check how people are or if they request support. Would prefer something people can leave in the background and forget Anyone have any ideas? Teamviewer keeps pestering me for a license

  18. Woah, Woah, Woah. Nicholas Cage is a diamond in the rough. Yes, he makes 100's of awful films, but for every 100 awful ones, there's a diamond. Ever seen Lord of war? Absolutely Brilliant! Frozen Ground? Loved it! Everything else? Bleugh Except Face off...

  20. Well, we are keeping the putty... just for the fact it might be useful. I'l be getting some thermal paste either today or tomorrow. Thanks for all the giggles guys
  21. If you know a bit of PHP start with that You need A database (MYSQL is easiest to learn imo) A web host (duhhh ) A domain (If you want other people to find it) Next up you'l want to look into MYSQLI for database connections and how to setup tables etc, creating entries such as user accounts and sending information back and forth. You will probably want some kind of encryption or anti-injection. So have a look at mysqli escape for html fields. I would suggest going on places like stack overflow if you have questions but you have to have shown some initiative and understanding Best of luck
  22. It would be good to see what you've done in the past and learn from there. I use Wordpress as a basis for EVERYTHING it's great because you can use it's structure and custom php in pages etc. Having a lack of description makes it hard to help you, However what you're asking sounds like a custom script. How much PHP do you know? ASP? .Net?
  23. I've lived by MSE,then again, I've always set it up from scratch... right at the beginning of an OS installation though
