  1. Thanks for the advice Meldrew. After trying a number of fixes I started to believe the anti-virus software Kapersky was causing the issue, I disabled it but still no luck. I then found out from the Kapersky website that it indeed had caused the issue: "On Friday, October 25, 2013, Kaspersky Lab has released anti-virus databases, which was mistakenly added detection system file tcpip.sys. This anti-virus databases detected as a malicious file tcpip.sys in Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations running under Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (32-bit), put the file in Quarantine and delete the registry keys that refer to the file." They have provided a fix, which can be found at : False detection on file tcpip.sys at October 25, 2013 I applied the fix and the issue had been resolved.
  2. Hi all. Hopefully someone has come across this and can assist. Last week was half term for us and just did Windows updates, java/flash update and also updated to the latest version of Impero. Everything seemed fine on Friday (25/10), a few staff were in and no issues. But on Monday morning (28/10) there were about 9 of over 80 pcs which had dhcp issues. For some reason the service is not starting. The below are the errors in event viewer in order: 50038 - an error occurred in initialising DHCPv4. Error Code is 0x2 1004 - Error occurred in stopping the DHCPv4 client service. Error code is 0x2. Shutdown lag value is 0 7023 - The DHCP client service terminated with the following error: The system cannot find the specified file I cant restart the service manually. The DC is Windows Server 2008 r2 and clients are W7 pro. I haven't been able to find much regarding this issue, from what I have found I've tried resetting tcp/ip, adding permissions to registry values, reinstalling network card/drivers. Still no luck, would greatly appreciate any help on the issue. Thank you.
