Ive managed to use profile manager to stop students inverting the screen ect and using the emoji function however they can in the logon screen. Im looking for the location of a plist i can replace in order to stop this? Thanks

I've had a few users inverting colours on the login screen, once they log in they cant as ive limited the profile via profile manager, however at the login screen they can. Any ideas how to disable this global plist ect?

If you add the printer manually on a mac without the profile do you get the same thing?

Make sure you dont have require Administrator password ticked on profile manager and try re-adding the printer to your OSX server. I had a similar issue where profile manager didn't show new printers. Ended up using terminal and refreshing that part of profile manager and worked fine ever since.

Thats something i can look into as we manage more or less everything with SCCM already so shouldn't be too much more work.

It would work but i would have to check which computers to disable ect, looking for a automated process and if they dont use vpn they wont even notice.

Im looking for a solution to make teachers bring in the laptops that have been given to them, looking at once a term and as they have vpn kms 180 days is no good. Reason being we want to make sure they stay upto date ect and over vpn there a lot harder to manage.

Ive managed to capture all the addons for garageband but i need the plist files com.apple.garageband.plist ect. Problem is i cant seem to find them in user/library/preferences where they should be, would anyone be able to upload there's for me to try and use? Thanks

That's fair enough, as for information getting into the wrong hands i would have thought people advertising which schools there from and the security loop holes on there network on a open forum would be more or a danger. I will contact ligthtspeed see if there do any kind of sharing program.

We are currently using Lightspeed and although its good we are still adding a fair amount of new sites for games ect on a weekly basis, has anyone thought of sharing there's via a CSV, text file as i'm sure most of us block more or less the same sites.

Been told i more or less have to do this free by the boss, so i have to try creating a script maybe and see if i can deploy that in SCCM or GPO on a few test machines and see if it works. Got about 600 workstations and 500 laptop/netbooks that later of which this probably wont work.

I'm looking into the possibility of changing the power plan to try and stop disruption caused by updates and software deployment by scheduling restarts, ideally in the evening for student workstation plus netbooks if it can be done and weekends for admin and teaching staff as well as WOL for workstations that are turned off by the students. I was thinking of using GPO schedule tasks to do this, anybody doing something similar ?

Samsung and Stone, spoken to the companies in question and they seem to think its doable via windows but wont give any direction.

Im looking for ideally a group policy fix as we have student's turning off the wifi on netbooks which then causes problems for the next lot of students who try and login so my thinking is by disabling the function key they wont be able to.Any ideas ?

I tried to deploy without silent mode running and I notice it stops at the serial page without having the serial filled in so that is my first thought.
