  1. Easy! A "Research trip" to Silicon Valley, that just happens to divert you through Napa Valley with a few days in Southern California just for good measure.
  2. Hi all, this is one for others, like me, who have had problems with CC4 since the summer. I know a number of you have had near identical stories to ours: A CC3 to CC4 upgrade over the summer that went completely pear shaped. I've seen mentioned here and there the issue of compensation. We are currently having this discussion with RM at the moment, what I would like to know is what others in our position have been offered or have negotiated with RM. If you don't wish to discuss this publicly feel free to PM me or email me at [email protected] Many thanks! Mark
  3. Honestly? The support staff are excellent. Unfortunately, the product is FUBAR. To put it bluntly.
  4. They key with building from USB is that your BIOS detects the USB as a HDD and not a FDD. Our older (RM!) machines can only detect and boot from USB FDDs and not HDD therefore we were stuffed and had to open up each machine and plug in CD drives (booting from USB CD not an option either).
  5. We use Ultra VNC installed from an msi. I much prefer it to Tight VNC (which is what I used previously). If you want I can send the msi to you?
  6. I'm now running an eval installation of Browse Control. I'll round this up by posting a little report back here in the coming weeks. Thanks for the responses so far!
  7. OK, here is the situation: We have an external proxy (LEA) and a basic internal proxy (software - browsegate). Current internet setup works fine, however we recently installed new PCs in the Library. Because this room is essentially "open all hours" we wish to restrict internet access in there to specific hours. How would you go about doing this? I have experimented a little with Smoothwall. The library machines have their own dedicated switch, is there something I could put between this switch and the network? Also, ideally, any solution would need to be easy to access and modify (ie for teaching staff). Any help and suggestions would be much appreciated!
