I spoke to Ruckus about this today and their response was pretty vague along with a really thick accent I just asked him to email me and this is the response I got: Thank you for contacting Ruckus Support. As discussed over call, if the client visits any HTTPS website before authentication on captive portal SSID he will get one certificate error. This is current design intent and currently there is no fix for this issue. All the vendors are facing similar issue due to added security feature on client end. You can find more detail on below KB article. https://support.ruckuswireless.com/answers/000006337 ------------------------------------ Did you find a work around as new browsers such as Edge on Windows 10 doesn't allow you to proceed past the certificate error :@

Hi all I need to lock down a magicolor 8650, by this I want to disable the physical navigation and buttons on the printer. I've logged into the printer as a admin from it's ip, but I can't seem to find a setting to do so. Does anyone know? It's easy on HP Printers :-/ Help

Yeah Alex is correct that is how I did it.

School Spider is very basic, it is definitely designed for primary with big buttons and fun fonts. It doesn't link in with your MIS such as Sims or CMIS. It does the basics of what we're wanting as a school and that a homework function (so the assigning of homework to a student and the student to upload the document back to the teacher) and school spider does this well, but then theres not much to it after that. The package they like to do is design and host you a website which links in with their VLE side of things. This is webased service only, so you can't host it on your site :-/ but it is very cheap, they said for an average primary school they charge £800 a year, for myself of a school of 1200 pupils they said they would do me a deal for £1200 a year. If you are looking for a all in one service for website, VLE without your school supporting it IT wise this is a great service/product, unfortunately I don't think it's for myself and the school I work at. If you think it might be up your street ask for a demo.

I'm having a demo with them this afternoon, might as well see what it's got to offer.

Bought HP650 they're good. Only problem is with our imaging software it captures the image but when you go to write the image to another laptop it doesn't except it, I dunno if these Win8 laptops have weird bios that don't except Win7 images. I have manually install Win7 by disk :-/ other than that brilliant kit for money.

Nadeem that didn't work and I don't think you understand what I'm looking for. -
Hi does any one know of any plugins or blocks which can be put on the front page so when a student logs in it shows their assignments that are due? So far they have to go into the course to see assignments due in that course.

Anyone out there using Scholaris ?
LoundsZ replied to mattysmith80's topic in Virtual Learning Platforms
The last school I worked at used Scholaris which was supplied by Ergo UK and it was terrible, the cost was 15k, they gave us a really powerful server which was had scholaris virtualised, the thing was, that it was incredibly slow and everytime we had more than 30 students or staff connected it would crawl, this info was passed onto Ergo UK who failed countless times to resolve it. Also I found it very hard to design virtual classrooms and subjects to look appealing for users, in the end nobody used it and that school has now scrapped it. -
I'm testing out Moodle 2.5 out at the moment, I'm quite happy with it

Right I'll have a play, it's not live yet. The problem with the assignments is that theres too many fields, we have quite mature teachers and even if you gave them CPD sessions on it, they would forget. The school was using frog and many days of training were put in place but none of the staff ever took to it and over all it was a waste of school budget. It might be that Moodle isn't for us as a school.
-
Yeah I understand what you're saying, it's a training issue, but if a system is design for easy use, then you shouldn't need training. Most people download apps on iOS and Android and pick up on how to use them straight away. I just know staff won't use Moodle with its default fields for the assignment plugin. It needs to have either a box to write the assignment or a upload button for the teachers document, then a drop down menu for class or students and a submit button.

Hi Does anyone out there know of any easy to use plugins that would work with Moodle 2.4, I'm designing a Moodle for the school I work at and I need something that will be easy for teachers to set homework and receive without any hassle, the feed back from staff is the default plugin for assignments isn't very intuitive and it will scare staff that aren't confident with using IT in lessons, which we want Moodle/the VLE to be the centre of each lesson and homework, so it has to be easy to use for everyone.
