Hi All, On and off we have had various visitors who are unable to associate with our wireless. I have put it down to the driver revision and generally taken no notice. However, having recently upgraded an HP Elitebook to Win 8.1 from Win 7 it no longer associates. The notebook has a Broadcom wireless card. The solution is to manually load the Win 7 driver for the card. Much research sort of indicates that there is a problem with some revisions of Cisco's firmware. We are on 7.0.220.0, an early version. However some seem to find the issue still exits in V 7.6, the latest. It seems that there is a compatibility between Broadcomm Win 81. drivers and the way Cisco implement WPA EAP? Does anyone have any first hand experience of this annoying problem and its resolution. I don't want to go the hassle of upgrading the Cisco f/w and it not fix the problem. Thanks Andy

Thanks Michael, That does indeed work and in fact as there is nothing better I have done that for the SLT. The problem is however, I want to manage the permissions for different groups, so SLT have r/w access, but all other staff have view only. By adding the Shared user that will give r/w access to all staff. So the only way is to give the shared user account to staff that need r/w access but all other staff will have to log into 365 on the web and then add the shared calendar. It seems such a basic thing that I find it hard see why MS haven't made this available in the app. Pretty much everyone who uses a mobile device will also want to view a shared calendar. Hopefully they will sort this out on an update soon. Thanks Andy

Morning all, I think I already know the answer to this, but I have been trying to see if there is an elegant way to get an office 365 shared calendar up on an iPad/iPhone without having to go to Office online. I've found a couple of calendar apps but they all seem to be view only. In the Outlook app it doesn't appear to be able to link to a shared calendar, only your own. We're new to 365 and so far I think its great, but there does seem to be a few really odd omissions from Microsoft! Especially around the iPad apps. I have a windows phone and whilst that links to 365 better, you still cant access the shared calendar. I'm starting to wonder whether this is the best way to go to have a global calendar that all can access to view and a few to edit? If anyone has any thoughts even if it's to confirm it cant be done that would be good. Thanks

Correction to the above, its saving to onedrive/sharepoint from local Word. There is of course no way to save to Onedrive from the online version.

We have recently moved to a Dell Sonicwall NSA which on t he whole, works very well. The cloudwebfiltering server is on .253 and the dell NSA on .254. Two issues when going out through .254, firstly, the network icon in systray always show No Internet connection. Clearly there is as we have Internet access. Secondly, we have moved to Office 365 and if you open online Word (for example) and try to save to Onedrive, it tells you there is no Internet connection. I suspect the two will be linked. As soon as you route through .254 all is OK. Has anyone seen this behaviour before? I'm guessing I'll have to put a load of domains into the CFS exception list? Google came up with a load of MS sites that should be added but that was for Office not even opening an app. Mostly it's not an issue as it doesn't effect users yet. For us in the IT dept. I have set IP reservations and pointed them to a specific router IP. But I can see it rearing its ugly head before long as staff move more towards 365 online. Any thoughts? Many thanks Andy

Hi Dave, I used to do it that way when I managed a large school. Now I only have to worry about 20 pc's and a few laptops and given the issues I had when trying to deploy Sophos automatically to Win 7 devices I now just manually do it. It still registers the device in EM. Anyway, sorted the issue. It turns out that each network adapter on the Hyper V host has to have "Virtual Queues" disabled otherwise the network runs like a dog. So all going well now! No more moaning teachers that it seems a bit slow. Thanks Andy

Has anyone had any issues loading sophos AV client where the management console is on a VM running on Hyper V (2012 server)? It is incredibly slow getting to the Icon to show in the file list then very slow getting to the page where you enter administrator password. I load Sophos Client from the shared folder rather than deploying it as it is far less hassle. I navigate to \\TPA-MGMT-01\SophosUpdate\CIDs\S000\SAVSCFXP and then have to wait 5 minutes before I am able to run the setup file, and then another 3 minutes before I can enter credentials. When the VM was on hyper V on a 2008 server, no problem. There is no issues with performance on the VM or loading any other apps from the VM. This is the second time I've seen it both times on 2012. Any thoughts anyone? It's not a show stopper just a PITA! Cheers Andy

Hi All, I am attempting to setup a standalone FMS system to go with the standalone Sims. (We need to retrieve some finance stuff and no longer use FMS). The Sims install works a treat but I just can't get the FMS to connect to the database. The setup is SQL Express 2008 on a VM, FMS sharing the same instance as Sims although with a DB name of FMS. SQL 2008 management studio loaded and can see the database and user logins. All seems OK! Load the FMS application, setup the FMSconnect.ini and I get "invalid username/password or Database name". I know the DB name is correct, and fairly sure the username/password combo are fine. I have reset the password to one of the users in SQL but not sure if that is sufficient or whether the FMS app dictates the password. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks Andy
