We've just had SIM.net installed on a new PC and when I opened it for the first time it asked for the DB name - fat fingers here typed it incorrectly and now it isn't giving me the option to change it. Do I need to uninstall and reinstall SIM.net? Thanks in advance

I have a bunch of new workstations to roll out at school next week, and coincidentally SIMS is being installed on our new server. Would I be right in thinking that the install files for sims.net should be available on the server, and I won't need a) install disks or b) a Capita technician to do it for me (as has been implied!) Found the hardware thanks to j17sparky's pictures - nothing labelled - I ran the D-Link control panel so I can see which MAC address is tied to which port but it doesn't help me with the current problem - so I have called in some network specialists. Many thanks for your help

Hello all, I'm helping out with the IT at my daughter's school while they look at new maintenance contracts. They have just had a new extension built, and the sockets that have been installed aren't able to speak to the server. They don't appear to be "live". I spoke to someone from the company (who rather worryingly described himself as not knowing much about computers!) and he said that they need to be "patched" at the end in the IT room. I'm an IT bod but on the programming side so this hardware stuff is all new to me! I've been fiddling around with netstat on the server to see if I could identify a port that was clearly not live but I have no idea if I'm barking up the wrong tree. Any advice/thoughts very gratefully received!
