I have seen this on a laptop at one of my clients. They take the laptop home and connect into their wireless there. Bring it back onsite and the printers start to populate. Mine deploy via VBS script.
I have found that W8 is super sensitive to which groups do/dont appear in the local admins group when you join them to the domain and as a result can break the metro screen altogether with apps not functioning with the dreaded X appearing on them.
Any of you guys getting the Wifi drop outs with 8.1?
Its driving our staff/students nuts to the point where I am pulling the pin and start rolling back to W7.
Sounds like its seeing what it needs on the Server, just doesn't have permission to do it locally.
Perhaps test to see what happens if you give Domain Users and Everyone local admin rights?
Yep.
