Hi DrPerceptron, I've seen the same problem with some of our ex-Olympic Acer Veriton L670G's. The solution we found was to remove the BIOS battery, leave them for 10 mins, then reassemble. The only difficultly is actually removing the BIOS battery, as it's right on the edge of the board under a lip in the casing. It's almost impossible to get your hand in!
