There's some software called Iperius that does that Sted - it creates a local copy of a disk image and then syncs it over, but I don't want the local copy - it's an overhead that shouldn't be needed.

Looking for suggestions for an offsite backup solution. I want to set up a NAS in an offsite location (ie feeder primary), and backup to this NAS as additional to our current backup schema. The backup software should complete a full system state backup each night, and copy that as well as any changed files (so incremental) to the previously seeded NAS. That way we have a daily offsite backup. There’s a number of freeware solutions that do half of what I need, but I haven’t found one that can do the system state too – well, that’s a lie – Iperius can do it, and it’s a fair price, the only issue I’ve found is it needs to store a copy of the drive image locally as well as copying it up to the NAS. I need something that sends up the system state, and then scans the server and says “this has changed, send it to NAS. This has changed, send it too. This hasn’t changed so we’ll not waste bandwidth sending it”. We currently use Backup Exec 2012 for D2D2T, and this works well - wouldn't really be looking to replace BE2012, but something to add to our current backups to provide this next level. Cost is an issue to some degree, but willing to consider all options provided they do what I need. Many thanks,

I'm setting off in about 20 minutes. Should be there for 3:30-4ish. If anybody will be there then let me know and I'll come and introduce myself. EDIT: Otherwise I'm taking a short trip to Blackpool to see if it's changed any (people welcome to come with also, just let me know) -

I've voted both, but colleague also coming - he can't vote for some reason so could you stick an extra down for both nights on your final tally. Thanks, -
We seem to have the same issue since installing the last batch of MS updates. I've tried moving to GPP - user side it takes and age (just like it did with VB, but scripted way had black screen while it hung). Computer side seems to work but this is not how I want them. Surely the script can work again, positive this is linked with the Epson WP-4515 driver we use, but nothing changed recently except these update. Going to try updating driver but did you get sorted? Do you have WP4515s? We have only experienced it in rooms that have these it seems.
-
We're talking 21 machines - I was only working on 1 of them at a time, they all have the issue.
-
Does anyone use Ableton Live Lite at their place, and if so how did you roll it out? We've installed it, but because the authorization files sit in the user profile each user has to authorize. I've tried figuring which files I need to copy but drawing blanks - anyone help?
-
Anything else to throw in the mixer?
-
Yep, deffo as we already apply that fix to other machines on the network.
-
Nope - that is an issue that we've had on other machine which we've fixed via that reg key. But this issue is totally different. The machines in question have speakers plugged in to rear, but also don't pick up headphones if plugged in.
-
Hmmm, tried this just now - nothing but driver, and still muted (although without Realtek software I can't find any way to unmute (read:enable))
-
Having a mare with the Realtek HD Audio stuff. Long story short: Logon to machine and speaker icon is muted. So I have to fiddle randomly with the settings in the Realtek thingy (I've found no one setting that works everytime). Sometimes disabling the front panel JD work, sometime I have to enable it, sometimes I have to disable then enable - very random. Anyway, it's only a problem for 30 PCs so figure don't need GPO or anything, can just do manually and be done with. That would be the case if the settings actually stuck though. I get the sound working (through trial and error), reboot, and we're back to square one. Sometimes the startup sound plays after a reboot but then is 'muted' (read: disabled) again when I log on, or sometimes there is no startup sound.

This is doing my head in. As an alternative, does anyone use CS6 and restrict the cache files from uploading to the profile?
-
Just put a test laptop in to its own OU with blocked inheritance, and still the same....
-
Is it possible something in the computer GPO is causing the headache? Looking through GPO for computer side of things and not seeing a great deal - Offline files?
-
Created a new OU with a test teacher and student account, inheritence blocked (and working as when logged on it was totally different), clean profiles etc. But still doing it. The only GPO applied is the one redirecting AppData, it doesn't do anything else.
-
Any other ideas, because I'm all out.... might there be another GPO upsetting it?
-
Yeah, we have a one for each, controlled by WMI too, but on top of that we have no XP machines any more, so no confusion can be had in that respect really.
-
I totally opened it up while testing, so 'everyone' has full control.
-
Did the same. Attached image - left is what I enter, and then when I go straight back in to setting it changes to the image to the right
-
yep, I notice you have "Application Data" instead of "AppData" that I have - will that matter?
