  1. Looks like this is pretty close to my previous experience and a solution: IT Team - Booting a Windows Server Backup VHD in Hyper-V. Going to try this in a lab environment. Unfortunately going with the normal tool disk2vhd or similar is not an immediate option at this point.
  2. I know Windows Server Backup is not the best candidate for restoring directly to a hyper-v virtual machine, and rather disk2vhd I believe would be the preferred method which I have not had great luck with myself. With that being said is it possible to do a WSB backup on Xen 5.0 directly to a Hyper-V virtual machine? I know going the USB route does not work, at least my test of it doesn't appear to allow me to directly access the USB even after configuring it as an attached drive in Hyper-V for that VM, and I thought going the via network route could be successful. What are your thoughts on the Xen WSB -> Hyper-V direct VM conversion? Can it work? What would you recommend instead and could you provide instructions or a link to details on the backup and restore process? I've done a bit of research on this forum and have found similar though not identical posts along with Google and I haven't found the definitive answer yet so I apologize if it's already out there. Thank you very much, it is appreciated.
