About nikoxley

  1. What I'm trying to achieve, is a connection to sims from a users laptop that visits both sites We have a Secondary school on Domain A with a Sims server of Servername\SIMS2012 We have a Primary School on Domain B with a sims server of ServernameB\SIMS2012 These 2 domains are completely seperate Both use the same database name SIMS Both sites use Network drive M: ( Is it possible to have the SIMS drive mapped for two different drive letters one for each school) I have tried using a connect.ini that allows me to select the site [sIMSConnection]ServerName=SITE1\SIMS2012DatabaseName=simsServerType=SIMSSQLCommandTimeout=1000000DatabaseMode=OnLine[simsDatabases]FriendlyName0=SITE1Server0=SITE1\SIMS2012databasename0=simsDatabaseMode0=OnlineFriendlyName1=SITE2Server1=SITE2\SIMS2012,50290databasename1=simsDatabaseMode1=Online[sIMSOffline]PreviousRedirect=PreviousServerName=SITE1\SIMS2012PreviousDatabaseName=simsPreviousDatabaseMode=OnLine Site one connects fine but when on site 2 keep getting login reason 0

  3. Hi all We have mapped drives via GPO setup here. usually when a user take their machine home they can log on but obviously any network drives are not available, but are still shown as mapped drives in my computer but with a red X at the side. This then allows the user to login back into the network via VPN and when they click the network drive with the X on it reinitializes because they are connect via VPN. the problem i'm having is all of a sudden when users are taking there machines home the drives are disappearing from within MY computer so cant reinitialize when logged in via VPN Also we have noticed that when a drive is made available offline and synced ( all permissions have been checked to make sure user has correct access to the drive) when the user gets home the offline drive is not showing as a mapped drive in my computer ? Cant find anything on the web regarding this so any help would be fantastic
  4. Thanks 3s-gtech Tried the solutions you posted still no joy Its looking like the board Unless anyone else has any other suggestions
  5. Collegue of mine has a old Xserve 2006 intel model that was used to map drive and printers, When trying to power on the unit, the power comes on OK but he only gets a white screen , no apple logo , no chime. I suspect the logic board may have gone on this. Just wondered if anyone else had experienced any problems like this and if they had any solutions ?
