I've been told to end these processes in task manager but they weren't actually running pulsar.exe and winword.exe any other things I should try?

I cannot seem to run any reports (of my own or predesigned) because this message keeps appearing 'check that the previous report is not still open' message i've tried d deleting all the temporary report files deleting all reports downloading new templates it still says it even when I've closed sims down and reopened it again. I've always been able to run reports before, not sure what's changed! very novice at using sims so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
