Job Summary:
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Senior IT Technician to join our friendly IT services team. Duties will include providing support to Finham Park (Inc. Adult Education evening classes) two local primary schools and a new free school opening in 2015. You will be based at Finham Park, however the role will require travelling to our education partners with a three mile radius requiring the use of your own vehicle with fuel cost reimbursed.
The person appointed will be providing 1st and 2nd line support and must have advanced knowledge and skills related to the administration of LAN networks and server administration, ideally with at least 2 years’ experience in a previous IT related role. You will help manage the IT helpdesk, including allocating requests to the IT Technicians, escalating where necessary and offering support to the IT Technicians. You will also be a representative of Finham Park IT Services working with senior personnel to ensure that excellent customer service is being delivered at all sites.
Essential Skills:
In depth knowledge of Windows 2008, 2012 server.
Advanced knowledge and management of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP TCP/IP, IIS and Group Policy. with an awareness of server roles and client management solutions.
Expert knowledge in the use of desktop and client/server based application software.
Supporting Apple Mac servers and Mac OS X environments.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages up to and including Office 2013.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, it is important that you enjoy speaking with clients. explaining technical problems in a simple terms.
Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and on own initiative.
Ability to plan, schedule and monitor own work within limited timescales.
Commitment to providing excellent ICT support services.
Working in accordance within agreed SLA’s to support education partners.
Supervisory experience.
Desirable:
Any exposure to SIMS, Mobile Device Management, and IP CCTV would be beneficial but not essential in this role.
Experience:
At least 2 years’ experience in an IT related role.
