  1. Hi, the csv file is not truncated, my source file is correct. the bulk tool seems to be taking the admission number and ignoring the first two characters if it begins with a letter. if i replace the letter F with a number for testings sake, it appears in bulk tool ok, also if i make it a lowercase f, the bulk tool completely ignores the field for that line. this school I'm working at doesn't know why all there admission numbers start with an F, I've never seen it before, the school I'm employed at our admission numbers are just numbers. Thanks for your help and quick responses, very much appreciated.
  2. hi matt, using 1.7.23, and using a csv. the raw fill just shows the truncated version. (just realised the example is wrong ish, only 6 characters long(monday morning head still on), admission number is F01234, the tool truncates to just "1234"
  3. Hi, Hopefully someone can help. I have been trying to use the tool to import a UDF, the only primary key i have to search on is the admission number. However the school i working with, there sims admission numbers start with a letter, i.e. look like this "F012345", when i use the bulk import tool, it chops off the first two characters trying to search for "12345". is this a bug in the software or is there something i could do to make it work? cheers
  4. ah that might be it, we redirect our connect.ini, will give that a try
  5. nothing comes up in the log file, all i do is enter the login details server name and db name, press login and it tells me to enter the server name and database name as if i havent entered them. sims works fine on my machine. does it make any difference that my pc is a windows 7 64bit machine?
  6. trying to have a go at using your program and cannot get any further than it asking for the server and db details. have entered them as they should in the boxes and it keeps telling me to enter the server and database. I dont think im doing anything wrong. Wondered if you could help. Cheers Steve
