  1. It's going straight into a Cisco switch, the same switch that I'm using to bypass Smoothwall to access Edugeek. I'm getting timeouts between 5-8 minutes on the external card. With the "online" and "offline" beeps sounding. It wouldn't be the first time I've had a Smoothwall box fail on me, but this one is really rather odd!
  2. Sure is! Looks like the external connection keeps resetting every few minutes.... Any advice?
  3. Our Smoothwall box has decided to be completely accessible and we can ping through it to external addresses, we can do NSLookups etc, even running traceroutes from it is not a problem. Unfortunately, it appears to not be allowing traffic through it and throwing up obscure DNS issues. The DNS servers work, and if we bypass SmoothWall, we can use them and they're resolving IPs without issue. We use SmoothWall as our default gateway and our proxy server, so we've now had no internet for almost 48hrs. I'm unable to log a call because my name isn't on the helpdesk system and I'm stuick waiting for the official channels to raise a fault ticket. Has anyone had any similar symptoms before?? All the active cards look fine and there are no errors/warnings. However I have noticed an intermittent beep now which is also a cause for concern. Please help!!
  4. Hi Mark, I'm about to embark on this shortly and just wondered if you have any tips/tricks to getting it all set up? I'm practically stuck at the first hurdle though as acquiring the apple push certificate is proving to be an issue. Did you have any problems? cheers, Ben
  5. I've tried everything, multiple YouTube URLs, whitelisting etc. No luck. If I use the authorities proxy (still using the same firewall), it works fine. I'm certain the issue lies at the SmoothWall box, but just can't get my head around it. I'll keep testing and trying and will put any of the positive stuff up here. So far it's not been great. Unfortunately, Apple products and proxies are not good friends
  6. I have exactly the same issue. iPads are currently causing the most grief in school. Mostly this particular issue. If I bypass the smoothwall box using different proxy settings (using the authority's smoothwall), I can get it to work, but I don't see what is stopping it running via Smoothwall at this end.
