Hi Can anybody recommend a supplier for some HP desktop pc's we have been managed service for a couple of years now and i am out of the loop in terms of companies offering the best deals. We have asked hp direct for a quote but is there any other companied you can recommend.

We are having a problem with several of our hp d530 workstations when you power the pc we get a green light and all the fans start working, but there is no signal reaching the monitor we just ger a permanent amber light, no beep codes i have tried reseating memory, checked connections to the board and replaced the cmos battery but still no display which leads me to think we may have a increaingly large amount of faulty motherboards. Or has anybody come across this problem?

Is anybody having problems using ghost with these laptops when we use the ghost console it fails and boots back into windows and if we try to boot into ghost from usb it eitheir hangs or reports an error message.

Hi I have been asked to write a letter to the parents of the Year 11's who have to return there laptop they obtained from the computers for pupils scheme. As anybody got any templetes they use i am not sure on how strongly to write the letter. thanks

I haven't tried that is there any you would suggest to use.

I was afraid someone would say that we have 4 other essential software programs on this server so to do a re-install would be a nightmare.

We are having major problems on our SIMS server with the w32/sality-am virus, we have sophos installed and its is cleaning up detected items but then some of the exe files will not run and become infected again, does anybody know a way of permanantly removing this virus.

Managed to sort it i needed to do this copy "V:\Report Master III.lnk" "%USERPROFILE%\desktop\Report Master III.Lnk"

Can anyone help i want to create a shortcut for staff on the desktop of all the machines and was going to use KIX as my method of doing it. I have entered the following command in KIX but it wont work; copy "V:\Report Master III.lnk" "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop" as anybody any suggestions on what could be wrong with this line, the only thing i could think of is that it runs in a dos box so it may not recognise the long link to the all user desktop. thanks

Pretty low level question from a newbie with 0% knowledge of Linux but we are thinking of getting one of these notebook from RM to trial at our school, but how 'easy' is it to get one of these on our windows server 2003 active directory network, not much point paying out for one if we are unable to give students access to there network drives.
