  1. We've been using SysAid from Help Desk Software by SysAid since 2006, which is a helpdesk with extra's.
  2. My motorcycle is a little bit older... i'm restoring a 1931 James.
  3. I know of one local college that has Mac's in their Media department, but insists on having them dual boot Windows/Mac OS (not exactly politically correct for the Mac purists). Personal opinion is that Macs are OK for Media/Art, but when its down to delivering a wide range of applications and networking, it has to be PC's. P.S. we don't have Mac's at the moment, but I know a Deputy Head has had a demo recently, and is interested. My argument is that the IT Support in house is PC based, and none of my technicians are keen on learning about supporting Mac's because of the limited field.
  4. Hi, Has anyone with an RM CC3 network had experience of setting up Microsoft Communicator 2007, as the client software needs Communicator Server 2007 installed. This in turn wants to make a change to the active directory on each server, which i'm a bit concerned about on an RM CC3 network, in case it causes a problem.
  5. Hi, Is anyone else having problems with the install of the Eclipse.Net release that was issued yesterday? This new version fixes the squid proxy issue + other "bugs", but the install insists you remove the previous version, and towards the end of the installation it throws up an error message "There was a problem upgrading your database, Please check the error log for more details". Even a clean install on a server with no previous Eclipse database produces the same message (using SQL 2005 Express for the database - as per their CD).

  7. I think that the BETT show would be better if it had a day specifically for IT staff, with knowledgeable people on the stands (some exhibitors just had hired staff who knew nothing about the products), another day for teaching staff, and finally another day for everyone. In my previous field of work (electronics), we would never put staff on an exhibition stand without an understanding of the product(s). It was my first attendance at BETT, and it will have to improve to be compared in an equal light to many other trade shows.
