The roles will both have the basic ICT tech duties but one will have a slant toward systems (ie server config, switches and networking) the other will have a web services slant (vle, web site maintenance, email administration). Both will be offered at grade G. The titles are ICT and webservices technician and ICT and systems technician. You'll need 5 GCSEs A to C Experience in installation, maintenance and repair of ICT equipment. Technical knowledge of ICT software and who can identify and resolve ICT problems. Has good team working skills and can support the use of ICT in a classroom. Some knowledge of AV support for assembly setups. Can provide advice and support to ICT & classroom users across the school. For the web role some JavaScript or Frog experience would be advantageous. Has a full UK driving licence. PM me for further details :-)
  2. All sorted. Turned out that I just needed to tinker with my ldap filter a bit and set my bind dn correctly:rolleyes:. now works lovely!
  3. Thanks for the reply! Logged in from home and reinstalled zimbra with the new domain as suggested. But now get connection refused error when trying to hookup the LDAP. Strange because my existing moodle works fine through LDAP and works really well at allowing students and staff to utilize a single sign on. Was hoping to include the new email system as an sso and dont see why it shouldn't work. Will check it through tomorrow, but in the meantime many thanks for the response.
  4. Hi all, Have just got a zimbra test server running and have run into a couple of issues and i'm after some pointers on the best way to achieve what I want. first of all box is ubuntu 8 server zimbra 603. Zimbra configured with a domain of zimbraserver.domain.local. All our email accounts have the suffix @schoolname.wilts.sch.uk. What is the best way of setting up zimbra so that our existing email accounts remain as they are ie; [email protected] rather than what would be [email protected] if I was to import all the users under the bulk provision. Any assistance very much appreciated! PtT
  5. Does anyone know of any issues regarding serving the web frontend of a navaho teamcat through a squid box? The box itself is a basic Hardy desktop running squid 2.6 (may be later, the mind isnt what it used to be) Essentially i've got an issue regarding the buttons that normally come up as a contextual right click menu on the email screen but instead they are being displayed as buttons on the screen- although they dont actually work as buttons they just sit there confusing my users! I suspect it might be some kind of java issue but?????? Any ideas anyone? Can give more detail but not tonight coz I'm at home and I've stared at my PC too long already!!
  6. aint that the truth! now as then.
