Open up the properties of the default smtp server and click the delivery tab. Click the outbound security button and check to see that only only thing checked is the anonymous access radio. Click OK and click on the advanced button. Here all I have filled in is the hop count, the fqdn and the smart host. The credentials for the smart host are saved within the smtp connector. Once I made these amendments and forced a few connections on a few messages, I was able to see emails leave the queue. Hope this helps.

In the properties of the default smtp server, have you set any outbound security credentials there? What worked for was setting anonymous access and no tls encryption but still putting the smart host address in the advanced delivery window. I can provide screenshots of what I did if you want.

How's is the relay configured on your server? Did you use a connector or just configured it in the properties of the default smtp server?

Have you managed to sort your probs out yet? I have two sites with Exchange 2003 and I have managed to get them to send external emails. I see at the moment there seems to be a couple of seconds delay as it authenticates with the smart host but the email does get sent. The only problem is when it gets to the OPENHIVE servers, emails are getting delayed there with times ranging from 2 minutes and 2 hours. I shall open another call I guess.

No luck with trying to source this PSU, I did try a large number of suppliers who were helpful but they came back with nowt. Stone had one but it was not a sale item but a spare for an under warranty customer and I couldn't pursuade them to let go of it. So close! Was about to give up, but got chatting to an electrician and he told me to use a hair dryer and heat the capacitors up for about 5 mins on with it plugged in. I laughed and said I might as well give it a go. Got a hairdryer and near enough five minutes of heating the PSU up, the PSU lights up! Server is now up and running! I have had to use the hair dryer trick a couple times more when I moved the server and had to detach it from the UPS, but I am phasing this server out with a replacement as I reckon the hair dryer trick will eventually stop working.

I am desperately in need to replace a server's power supply as the server is the school's only one. The PSU died yesterday and being a Saturday, it was impossible to contact my usual suppliers. I am going to try tomorrow morning but was wondering if any of you will be able to direct me to supplier that will have this item? The power supply has an Intel part number FXX730WPSU and MM# 856596. It is made by Delta Electronis and has part number NPS-730AB A. The server chassis is an Intel SC5300 LX. Cheers

It seems that Sanyo projectors do tend to attract a lot of dust. The places I work at are very dusty but the other projectors don't attract as much. I had a couple of these turn go really dim and a few that had green blobs in the corners despite then all being just over a year old. I managed to get in contact with Promethean but they told me it needs a deep clean which will cost over £270 each! I tried to argue but that got me no further. I decided to take the plunge with taking these apart to give them a clean after I managed to take apart and clean a few Sanyo PLC-XU41 projectors which boosted my confidence. I saw the huge improvement with the XU41s and crudely deduced that the XE40 must be similar. They are very similar except that the XE40 has the huge lens which makes it a bit awkward, the XU41 motherboard has two connections that are the same size and are next to each other and the XU41 has a front piece that needs to be removed before removing the motherboard. Although I probably haven't done the clean as extensive as the thread starter I have managed to get the whole process done in 45 minutes and the improvement is huge. I can finally turn it to low brightness mode. I was surprised how relatively simple these projectors were to take apart and get to the lenses and LCDs. I wished I did it earlier and not have the pupils suffer.. or maybe not. I have started to take apart a few other makes and found LCD projectors are pretty similar. Difficult projectors to take apart were the old Sahara LCD and DLP projectors. I tried to take apart a crappy BenQ DLP projector but gave up when I could not even get the housing open. Although, I have no more XE40s to clean, I am planning to clean a couple of XU41s soon. If there is interest I can post a photographic guide when I get them done. Will also plan to clean some spare Epson EMP-81s and EMP-71s, too.

I have had a few problems with this kinda scenario. Some schools I have worked at had more than one computer that FMS was used and only a single USB or network printer was used to print from this outdated program. Things I did and now make sure for printing to work: Printer name and share name are the same (One occasion the printer was given it's default name when installed and share name was something else. As soon as I gave them the same names printing was fine). Printer name is short and simple (One time, printing some reports were fine but there was one particular report that wasn't having any of it. The name was in the form "Office Colour Printer (Secretary's Printer)" but when I changed it to "Office Printer" it was fine).

We had this installed last year. I think we paid £5k for a ~26" LCD and for it to be projected in hall. Very expensive I thought and couldn't talk the head out of getting even though the salesman was pretty poor. I am not too sure how long the agreement is (I think it's three years) or how much it is per year. The loop gets quite annoying, but you do have the option of putting your own content up and downloading extra videos from their site which makes it seem less repetitive. I haven't bothered getting involved with it as I have left in the hands of the teachers, but it seems they are fed up with updating it as there is still frosty the snowman playing over photographs of the kids building snowmen. It would probably be better to use some old PC and get the kids to create some content. Downloading videos from various resources could be done but I don't know about that due to copyright etc.
