Hi All, I am looking at trying to speed up logins. we have Windows 7 x64 on all the machines and wondering what sort of login times you have. Staff Laptops dont have a profile they just create a local one on first login this must take about 60 seconds for out laptops over wifi. Students do have a profile. Cheers in advance.

Don't tell me it's the teachers that tell the Internet is a must
-
I agree, but teachers seem to rely on the internet so much that they say if the Internet goes off they can't teach
-
If we have no internet we send people home, much like a powercut in this day and age
-
Sell it to them based on how collaborative it is.

I'd be very interested if you do find something it's something I'd like to replace
-
That's the second person that's recommended that to me, how would you compare that to smoothwall with its layer 7 options
-
Seems we don't have the license I'll give them a call on Monday any ideas roughly what it costs?
-
Under networking outgoing policies what do you have your default set to? Block all?
-
Any ideas what I've missed for unblocking it
-
We have a peice of software called JoinMe from logmein which i cant seem to unblock on the smoothwall. I have created the port rules to open this up but just get network error, i dont want to have to phone smoothwall everytime a new piece of software needs installing on our network. Can anyone guide me where to start. Also the application layer 7 firewall part of the smoothwall whats it called? ie in the menu?

we dont have pfsense at the moment we did have was removed as i joined the school. Not to sure why
-
Hi Guys and Gals Looking for advise into firewalls, correct if im looking at the wrong things but i believe we should be looking at Layer 7, and with application filtering. We used to use pfsense however its probably more basic than whats im looking for. Cheers

Ok so we have quite a few staff that would like to trash there laptops and use a Chromebook instead. I have quite a few ideas going around of how to achieve this RDS, or is there a way of getting Registers onto a webpage and marksheets. Does anyone do this currently? we use SLG at the moment but personally not a fan at all and speed isn't great.

We are looking into it as a finance project ie for all school assets. And school asses manager are the company that are coming in. So do you have all your sccm data duplicated in school asset manager ?
-
what did you build yours with?
-
Currently we do our asset management with spreadsheets however funds have been made available to purchase a solution or potentially. What is everyone experience of such software. Not to sure yet if they would like to asset more than just IT but i am guessing that they would. Cheers

Hi All, Really need a little help with this one, i have successfully deployed NPS to auto enroll our domain laptops so that they can connect wirelessly with out having to connect manually. Next on the agenda is non windows devices, except i just cant seem to get them working, i think its due to the certificate so am wondering how i tell NPS to not use certificate. Cheers in advance.

Not sure it works then, as it seemed to overwrite my filter level. -
Hi All Has anyone got any experience at this yet, i know its new is it to allow traffic to be filtered when not on site? or am i missing something? If so why can you not just use mobileproxy?
-
