ok so i have decided to be nice .... well depending on how complecated this becomes The PROBLEM: the head of nursery unit spends ages each day working out the nursery dinner numbers manually from paper registers this then has to be split into the different meal types (e.g. halal, vegitarian, vegan, no dairy, and all the different variations) i am feeling sorry for her as this could all be done oh so much easier by some software or other ... or so i think problem is i cant find anything that will do this at all so i am thinking of something in excell a simple spreadsheet thing to do the dinner numbers automatically and split them into the different meal types i feel confident that this will be quite simple and work quite well BUT inputting the attendance of the nursery children on the spreadsheet after it has all been sent to CMIS via ePortal would kinda invalidate the point of the whole thing The QUESTION: is there a simple script i can make and put on my admin server that will export a file containing the nursery attendance for 'today' ? (then i can automate it as a scheduled task run it daily after the registers close and connect my spreadsheet up to the data via a secure share and have the dinner numbers and meal variations all calculated automatically by the spreadsheet) i did try to look on here first but all i have found is in this post : http://www.edugeek.net/index.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=7748 the reference to "a command-line report export utility" but i have never done anything like this before and dont like to get too involved with cmis so have no idea what this tool is where to find it how to work it or anything Any pointers at all would be extreemly usefull thanks in advance

Installled wordpress on my vmware virtual linux server thats hosting my new website on monday an i was amazed how simple it was change 1 config file to match the database on local host i created copied the files to the virtual server went to the address cliked erm 3 buttons ? and typed the name of the blog an my email address and it was witting there waiting for me to use it oh an the wordpress site even has a link to this : http://cre8d-design.com/blog/2006/01/19/how-to-install-wordpress-20/ a visual tutorial why arent more things this easy to install ?

i use PCE from forensic software http://forensicsoftware.co.uk/FSL_PCE.htm they did a presentation at a bgfl thing not so long ago an i had looked at there stuff before, after that they gave me a trial so i could install it on my server and i think it allowed 15 client installs and i played with it for a while and brought it, cost depends if your primary or secondary primary cost ent too bad but i think secondary in comparison is a bit over the top, the LEA were negotiating a discount which i was promised to get back the difference which is something i should check up on now i think of it i will say one thing tho the ammount of false positives sometimes makes going through logs teedious and time consuming, if you know the keywords you want to look for or the users there is alot of filtering in the violation reports bit that can help but if you want to look through every "violation" then expect a fare few false positives, perhapse there is a way to lessen these but i have nto yet investigated that coupel of other features i liked: you can have different categories for different OU's and setup customised logins for staff to access the database of violations i was very impressed with it an b4 u ask no i dont work for them

enterprise console : C:\Program Files\Sophos\Enterprise Console\EnterpriseConsole.exe package updater : C:\Program Files\Sophos\Enterprise Console\EMConsole\Console\Bin\Sophos Enterprise Manager.msc is it up to date ? mine is set to update automatically and it deals with all issues on its own thankfully perhapse a forced update would help? update the server and packages and then do a update on all the clients from the enterprise console an even schedule a full virus scan as part of the anti virus policy to clear off anything nasty on the systems ? you can alwase take it off the policy after dont use it much it deals with its self i just check it evey so often here so cant be much more help

hi so smoothgallery in the edugeek joomla thing, erm well its not there and i cant get it to work the files appear to be missing ? i cant even find an installer to reinstall them casue its on v2 now its confusing me alot has ne one had the issue ? got ne surgestions ? please helppppppppp pete
