  1. This does look useful, do you use that solution?
  2. Yes we would like to display the screens and audio. The problem with the VNC solution is that for Android it requires rooting, and i imagine streaming media through VNC isnt going to go too well performance wise? Ideally we would like a hardware solution such as WLAN 11n VGA Projector Server with Audio | WLAN & Bluetooth | Networking | LINDY UK but preferbly not £500+ pounds.
  3. Hi All, One of our members of staff would like the ability for students and staff to connect their tablets and smartphones to display on a projector. They would like to support both Android and IOS (and windows!) Is anyone aware of a media streaming device that support this? or projectors that support it out of the box? regards
  4. Then i presume the smoothwall routes non local traffic to your firewall?
  5. So can the Smoothwall be configured with various IP addresses on different ports. Our wireless devices are on a different vLan with different default gateways to that of other devices. So we could set the transparent port to be the default gateway of the wireless vlan? and then have another port for our LAN traffic which we can give an address which becomes the proxy address of our owned machines.
  6. Hi, Whilst at InfoSec yesterday we saw an enterprise application where Tablets and mobile devices could be registered and policies created which enables administrators to control what apps can be downloaded and used on these devices. We currently do not have tablets used in house but it is something that is being discussed. I was wondering how organizations that already have them, secure, monitor and track those devices?
  7. Hi, I was wondering how a Smoothwall appliance works in transparent mode without any client configuration? All our wireless devices get DHCP addresses and then users have to manually configure the proxy address. How and where would we deploy an appliance where we could set a manual proxy for our owned network devices but then BYOD devices we want to auto connect via transparent mode with SSL login page with there AD credentials.
