  1. One of our staff had input some reports before half term. Some of them are now gone. The Staff member involved had put in 2 or 3 classes that day but only 1 of 3 of those classes is missing. The reports were seen by 4 other members of staff at different times so we know they were there. We have the log of when the member of Staff inputted them. We also had issues with the May big fix number 1 and 2. Anyone else suffered this problem?
  2. In some cases thats exactly what we did as the PC just wouldnt play anything through Kontakt Player.
  3. Tried ASIO4ALL, what soundcard would be good for this type of work? I always assumed that Creative would be a safe bet......although with a bit of googling i am realising that maybe they arent ASIO compatible (completely)
  4. We are running XP SP2 which is fully up to date. I have ensured that all drivers/software is up to date especially the sound and gfx drivers. I have spent hours and hours on this with very little consistent success. Success one day, the next day is a nightmare. I will do as suggested though and bootcamp it and see what occurs, good suggestion although i already think i can predict the outcome...
  5. We upgraded to Sibelius 5 about 8 months ago, upgraded from Sib 4. Sib 4 no problems. Sib 5, what a nightmare. We have a music suite of 13 PC's. Intel Dual Core, 1gb memory, 80gb HD SATA, Creative X-Fi and Audigy cards. From one day to the next we have issues, here are a few.. Crackling when the CPU goes redline (seen through the mixer) Stuttering and skipping when using Kontakt Player 2.2.4. Poor playback quality and missing instruments. I recently upgraded to 5.2 (suspicious of 2 upgrades already!) but this made little or no change at all. Most of the problems seem to revolve around Kontakt Player. Then we brought in an iMac from technology and within 15 minutes I had it installed, updated and was running like a dream! The Head of Music is now using that to get his music exams in. BUT we need to get to the bottom of this, do we go back to Sib 4 or can someone suggest whats going on, I have spent HOURS on this talking to Sib Support (who gave up in the end) and formatting, reinstalling, getting latest drivers. Clues people!! Thanks
  6. Can you post a set to me aswell please Wesleyw? We have been promised an email requiring filling in but havent yet received it. Have you seen the demo or taken part in it the online demo? Kinda worrying, I am hoping thats not the finished version as there seems to be a lot going on! But if it means we dont have to update every single workstation everytime an update comes (only because the kit currently is so old it needs time) then roll on!

    Netware Users

Hanging in there but by the end of the summer we will have been assimilated by RM CC4 as our LEA states to our Senior Team that they will not support Novell although their version of support is receiving the issue then phoning RM themselves.......... NW 6.5 SP7 Zenworks 3.0 (which works really well on Client 4.90 SP2 but any later and the policies go wandering!) yet another example of not getting funding for Novell yet huge amounts being chucked at RM to do stuff that Novell invented many moons ago!!!!!

    SIMS & Netware

Exactly what our LEA did to us, 'we cant support something we dont understand' the fact that we have been running it with very little funding for the last 7 years! All of a sudden money appears and they pump it into RM CC4 because it looks pretty! Pump money into Netware and it makes the rest blush! Answer to the thread...we run SIMS.net on a Netware 6.5 network for the time being and everything is fine, like mentioned before, drive needs mapping and users need setting up on the Windows box for SIMS but thats it.
