  1. @ localz We get support from capita, although i don't know much, theres one guy in the office who knows all about sims, but hes off ill. We're gonna give FMS a reinstall and see how that goes. It all appears to be down to this SQLANY service though, if it'd just start, fms would work, but it doesn't!
  2. @ dan Says the same as yours mate, path for the exe and the parameters. May have to call for external support on this one, i don't want to got breaking the whole sims install!
  3. @ localz Database file is in order, where it should be @ dan The error in the event log is very vauge and unhelpful - The description for Event ID in Source (SQLANYs_SUMS_SQL_DB_Server) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. Could not start server Its a pain in the backside!
  4. @dan The service isn't even running, it won't start. I've just tried to run FMS on the server and it brought up the same error as the client machines.
  5. Thanks for the quick reply localz, I haven't tried reinstalling FMS, to be honest i'm not that experienced with sims or fms and the guy who is, is off work. So unless there isn't another way, looks like i may have to reinstall fms on the server?
  6. Hi guys, I have searched the forum to see if i could find the soloution to this problem without bothering you but i failed! FMS is bringing up the old: UNHANDLED EXCEPTION IN SIMS FMS MODULE General SQL Error. (Sybase)(OBDC Driver)Unable to Connect to database sever: unable to start database engine I've had a look on the server and the SQL_ANYWHERE service isn't running, and it won't start, even after a server restart. Any ideas and the finance staff are chewing my ear off! Thanks! Seb
